Serious thread: I have depression

Protip for OP: Go to your doctor. Take the medication they suggest. If it doesn't work, let them increase the dose until it does. If that still doesn't work, let them try another medication. Rinse and repeat. One of them (most likely the first one) will help.

Lift weights, heavy ones. Real talk, you'll feel a lot better afterwards. Use resistance machines rather than free weights, at least when you're starting out. Don't worry about other people in the gym, they don't care how much you're lifting or what your workout is like, and everybody there was a beginner once. Remember to include leg presses/squats.

It won't "cure" depression, but it will hold it off. You should also see a doctor, I don't blame you for being leery of medication, but there are non-chemical treatments available. If you find yourself stuck in patterns of negative thought/have low self-esteem and that's leading to inaction (big co-morbidity with depression there) due to lack of confidence, then talking therapy can certainly help get to the root of what sets your depression off.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is the standard for depression, but mindfulness is also promoted. I don't like the sound of mindfulness, seems like a load of second guessing yourself and an introspective nightmare, but I'm not a medical doctor.

bro 100% srs anti-depressant stack:
-5,000 IUs D3 every day unless you live in florida/southern texas
-only jerk off 1x per week (it drains your strength)
-zinc-rich foods
-racetams/tianpetine/noopept if in desperate need
-low-dose ketamine if hyper-desperate

I would avoid SSRIs, there's a problem with dudes going limp on them.

This is all good advice and what a doctor would suggest.

Mindfulness is the opposite of introspective nightmare. It teaches people to focus on the moment and what's around then instead of being in an introspective slump.

Medication takes a long time and really should be reserved for more severe cases. If OP finds himself suicidal or that his life was extremely disputed this would be an option. However, medication can sometimes make things worse. Other options should be considered beforehand with months of medication trials being a last or extreme resort.

Get help. I'm dead serious. There is no shame in getting help when you need it, and don't let pride or the potential judgment of others stop you.
This. Don't tell us when you get the help because you're rolling the dice anytime you open up here, but do get the help.

So getting a boner is more important than not feeling depressed?

You can get erections, you just can't ejaculate.
:powerlevel:
It's worth not getting depressed but it sucks when you yank it for an hour and then just give up. But you don't feel the need to fap every day so I guess it's a tradeoff.
sometimes I get lucky and actually can finish up within 15 minutes or so.

There is nothing more cowardly than someone who kills them self. Killing yourself is the same thing as saying that you were wrong. All your enemies win when you kill your self. If you are having a arguement with someone and then kill yourself, you automatically lose the argument.

Suicide is the ultimate form of cowardice.

This, this is something I did not need to know.

you are wrong, to quit when ur ahead is a form of virtue hes death would relive the burden on socierty and alow for more resources to be give to others mor deservign

He is not ahead. And you are never ever ahead of the game enough to kill yourself. You instantly just lose the game if you kill yourself, thus cancelling out any positiveness of being ahead in the first place. As long as you don't kill yourself, then there is always a chance. But once he starts attempting to take the chance away from other men, that is when he may end up in prison, to help take the burden off other men.
