All kiwis in the path, get ready and pay attention to local weather and news! Best of luck and prayers. remember to drip your water if there is any point where lines are unprotected or any parts of the house that aren't heated. Run them if you lose heat and can't shut off the water at the main.

Next week is going to be crazy. By Wedensday temperatures in North America will most likely be the coldest on record, with 50 weather stations showing the potential of setting records. Additionally, this arctic blast will also bring a major snow event from the central plains to the east coast, with the worst projections for the Midatlantic States of Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. Some of the projections are wild, with 11 to 21 inches in some places like Richmond and Greensboro.

But wait, there's more! The System could become a Nor'easter and bring a blizzard to New England if it doesn't safely go out to sea.

Start preparing. You do not want to be assed out with no power in this. Make sure you have a back up heat source like Kerosene, wood or propane and enough food/water to stay in your house for a week. Especially if you are in a Mid-Atlantic State.

Becoming the winter that doesn't disappoint. A shame places not ready for it keep getting hit though. I hope for some major snow. The cold i could do without. (i'm a south eastern great lakes liver) lake effect is pretty much done by this point in the year so storms are usually the only chance for more. Not sure how covered over Erie is so far though.. Havent looked in weeks.

I'm in KY and we had so much torrential rain last night that it flooded basements through the sewer drain (mine came up a little bit). And then it turned into snow so there's slushy sticky snow piled onto everything even sideways.

And now we're looking at single digit temperatures over here again. WEWLAD

is there going to be anything left of that state by the time 2025 ends (:_(
North Carolina: God why do you give us your hardest weather over the past year?

God:

I remember when I moved to my current state and asking about winter; got told my everyone it wasn't too bad and given the rising temperatures, snow only comes infrequently. Well what do you know, the first winter I'm here we get bitter cold for weeks, snow & ice storms... really the whole works.

I'm sure now is the time libtards / Reddit niggers cycle back to the whole "weather isn't climate" schtick, only to switch back to making that equivalence at the very first hot day of summer.

Yesterday I had to drive on the interstate through front of snow + ice and cars & commercial trucks were strewn all over the place. Absolutely wild.

You mean I could've deferred my truck maintenance a week and I wouldn't have been sweating my balls off? Damn...

lol From where to where? South to north?

The earlier warmer than usual winter was a clear sign of the rest of winter being miserable.
I wish that was the case here, we got two feet of lake-effect snow the day after Thanksgiving and it basically just kept being topped off as it stayed perpetually freezing.

It wouldn't have been as bad if the lake wasn't so unusually warm to begin with but it was so it took forever to start freezing.

PNW to Pennsylvania. From what I understand, the last winter was pretty mild; I remember one guy I talked to said he only needed his snow blower one day out of the season. I'm originally from the Midwest, so I know I can handle this, but I can definitely see now why many people get stuck living in the more temperate west coast after spending time there -- really don't have to work nearly as much, if at all, to get through winter.

I guess this explains the random joint pain. When the groundhog foretold 6 more weeks of winter I didn't think we'd get the last 4 all at once.

It’s always funny when people worry about the weather far away when nobody there is concerned. Checking the snow predictions and then ignoring them because it’s probably going to be nothing is a proud midatlantic tradition. It’s already been cold and slushy the last few weeks anyway.

inb4 my power is knocked out and I die of exposure for my hubris.
