The people you mock here make direct arguments using the source material? Pressingon that one. I suspect they're more the type to just say opposing points aren't worth listening to, and exist in a bubble like the one I think you've already described. Which is like you, and you specifically.
I can list various points in my favor, and I suspect I should:
I've played the game. I don't think you guys have. That's why my posts discuss the merits and yours do not.
I've played the game. I was not here to discuss the merits of the CT, CA, ZA etc romances but the CA meltdown at Tifa getting a kiss and Aerith not and trying everything to cope, deny and downplay.
It's not your stated position that's coming across as "shipperheaded" but your reaction and defensiveness toward people on that same side of the fandom being dumbasses.I already volunteered what my stake/position was, contrary to the claim I'm hiding it. And it's a far less shipperheaded position than you seem to have.
Yeah, no one on either side is defending that meltdown.I posted an actual shipper meltdown that's inherently more remarkable.
You're defending acting as a shield for people on the CA side. And for your ship at the same time.
Is there some past history between you and Ceiling Kitten? Otherwise this comes out of nowhere and makes no sense.I confess I have nobody to dickride me, you have me beat there, but I don't need it.
It's far more than "people changing their positions" and I never said that was all I was talking about. It was just one example of the various copes I have been seeing online, a handy one to explain that a large portion of the shipping fandom has been losing their shit. If you read my post you'd have seen I also referenced the "He only kissed Tifa because he was jealous that Aerith has feelings for Zack" insanity. But also @LoverofPi says he's "just describing people changing their positions", which I haven't done at all because I don't take the hardline position either way. So even the dickriding isn't that good.
And now you're repeating several other common talking points and I have to wonder if you were paying attention to the game at all.Anyway, Tifa gets metaphorically pumped and dumped unless you just ignore Aerith in addition to pursuing Tifa herself. The reasonable explanation is that she's more popular and so her content gets more fandom content. But if you play the game she's obviously not the focus, hence why there's the narrative dissonance if you go for her.
