So is the edutainment cartoons Liberty's Kids and Adventures From the Book of Virtues, or the Bible cartoon Superbook. Or for that matter, any edition of The Chronicles of Narnia that happens to have illustrations or cover art.

Not sure how I ended up in this thread but loli and lolicon are separate and distinct - loli is just a depiction of a young girl, but lolicon is in a sexual context. Loli is fine, lolicon is problematic. If you need to define it, I'd say it's a suggestive or revealing depiction of a young girl with immature secondary sexual characteristics - ergo unambiguously an underage girl. This also makes a distinction between youthful or small looking characters who are otherwise mature. The crime is specifically if intent can be proven that the artist intentionally and unambiguously depicted an underage character with sexually immature characteristics in an inappropriate context that would encourage sexualization of a minor.

And it should really come with a formal FDA warning. The entire concept of 'kawaii eroticism' is an artistic cultural import that is fundamentally incompatible with western sensibilities and should not be endorsed. Catering to a fetish that in practice would be illegal is kind of entrapment.

Nothing of value is lost by purging lolicon content from the internet, but the caveat is that places will start playing word games after the obvious content is banned to delete non-lolicon content. I'm in favor of banning it. Everyone says "It doesn't hurt anyone" but doesn't it? I think it hurts the people who indulge in it. They shouldn't be feeding their sickness, they should be trying to make themselves better. And the people who argue that it will prevent kids from being molested are naive as fuck. None of the studies that push the notion that porn lowers rape rates are flawless and many are faulty, most are based on selectively picked data from a few developed countries, often where rape rates (and overall crime rates) were already trending downwards.

Without powerleveling, I know I accidentally stumbled onto a few back in the days of Old Internet and back then was shocked at how widespread they were (and it wasn't just fetish porn and fiction--I recall distinctly one guy had huge essays about why we should have a "right" to women's bodies. The guy was bald and really liked the bald tough guy aesthetic).

It's just hard to believe these people completely disappeared. More likely they're all on the darknet.
