As Nick Bate has been tried and found guilty of three charges, the next step of the process is Sentencing. This is a separate court event where the Judge hands down a sentence between the minimum and maximums stipulated by law, based on the Judge's own considerations of the nature of the offense and the offender.

I'm going to do this game a little bit differently. To help keep track of bets more easily, we're going to use a Twitter hashtag so I can search for it later when I know what to look for. Simply tweet what you think the Judge will hand down using the tag #SickNickSentence. I've already done so.

Rules
- Price is Right rules. Closest without going over.
- You may also state if you think Parole will be available.
- If you want to bet maximum sentence, say so as I have done. I don't know what the maximum sentence is but when I find out I'll edit this post.
- If you are right, I'll message you on Twitter or tweet at you. Supply me your forum username for your prize.

The prize will be a forum trophy and free Supporter status perks for you, or anyone you choose if you already have it. Alternatively, I might do a sort of fun favor if it's within reason. We'll talk it out when the time comes.

You can also state if you think he will be eligible for parole. This is a boolean answer. If the Judge sets parole in 5, 10, 50 years, it means he gets Parole. I'll probably give another forum trophy to everyone who guesses this, regardless if they get the sentencing correctly.

Have fun.

That's a super light sentence. I think the Judge is going to smash him because of what he has said online. @AnOminous, do you know what the max sentence is?

I'm predicting 8 to maximum. The maximum looks like it's either 30 or 40 years after some Googling, I can't read legalsese. Sentences for sex offenders are often a joke. It's likely that Nick will get the chance at parole, but parole will never be given to him.

Yeah, most states have ways of circumventing traditional sentences to keep sex offenders in prison forever and no one will ever complain. The game is over what the Judge will say, though, not what actually happens. I don't have the patience for that sort of a game, lol

25 years at least. Probably able to parole or appeal after 15 or so.

Guessing a 15 year sentence.

I could see it being as high as 30, but 15 is my guess.

May be a bit under, but we'll see eh?

I know that sounds low, but alas, sex offenders often get away with light sentences.
