I didn't say either of these things. Their relationship became abusive because of her illness. They argued, James felt helpless, Mary was always angry and then eventually James put her down to escape his own helplessness but also to end her suffering. Conflicted by this and depressed from being alone for years after we then roll into the events of the game.
By “being alone for years” do you mean that James was lonely in the latter stages of their relationship or that he was literally alone for years before the game? I ask because the game does show that even the time of Mary’s death is at question with James’ mind, with it actually happening only a short time ago, not three years as he believes at the start of the game.

Its an unknowable obviously his timeline and Laura's don't line up but we also know at some point he became an alcoholic.

Mary died 3 days before the events of the story, James lies to himself and says its 3 years.

How is that abusive outside of arguing?

Mary died 3 days before the events of the story,
Where does it say this?

The REAL reason why the movie is coal.

Just watch this instead.

I fucking love Eli Handle Wav crossovers he does it so well. Also is the new Silent Hill movie complete arse :/ I really loved the first movie (even the second one to a degree). I was actually willing to go and watch it in the cinemas but they are only screening it after 9.00pm.

Not gonna lie I kinda want to watch this shit to see if its as bad as everyone says or a decent movie that plays loose with the lore like 1.

I heard talk of giant spiders and that excites me.

I saw it, and even though it incorporated some cool stuff the ending completely ruined the movie for me. I won't spoil it, but the way they portray James and Mary was retarded. Laura's character is also pretty much ruined in the film, and Eddie is literally only seen once IIRC.

It's been spoiled everywhere already and most of us who haven't seen it never will so you might as well go into detail and put it under a spoiler if you're that concerned.

>it was all a dream ending in the big 26
you are shitting me. If you just had to do a fake out why would you not just do the Leave ending and call it a day?

I honestly took it as an outright indication that the loop theory is real in this universe, but it didn't work because James has nothing to repent for in this plot. They basically wanted to do In Water but didn't go all the way through with it so they resorted to the Loop and made James act slightly nicer after he "wakes up" and almost runs Mary over.

Lol the ENTIRE fucking point of SH2 is that James has to come to terms with what he did, what he wanted, and his longing for Mary, all at once, undoing it is beyond retarded, at least the Maria ending has him making the wrong mistakes again, instead of undoing anything.

I think the best ending I've seen is actually from the new one, the In Water+ one where he talks to Mary in the Car, and it makes it less that he's suicidal, and more that he wants to be with her so bad that he's willing to end it all to have it, with the unknown if she's really talking to him or he's just talking to himself and wishing she was there.

That new Stillness ending is infinitely better than the old In Water one. Its the only ending aside from Leave that actually gives any real closure (though not doing that is the intention of Maria, Rebirth and Bliss).

I’ve always hated 'In Water.' It feels like it disregards James fighting for survival throughout the game, forgets about Laura, and most importantly ignores Mary's final wishes. Additionally, in past discussions, people often seemed to not understand the fact that a person can hold conflicting feelings toward the same thing, which is essential to James' story. Instead, it often seemed that they were content with "James is just evil, GG".

Stillness fixes the majority of my complaints by allowing James to express why he does it. It gives him a chance to show emotion instead of just instantly ending himself, right after fighting for his life. Some people also think they hear him get out, which offers a separate possibility, though I think it works best if he didn't.

What I always found really funny about In Water is that the ending credits song they use is Angel’s Thanatos, this hard ass rock song that comes out of nowhere. It just slams you after this emotional and depressing ending.

Now of course, it can only make you, the player, realize one thing.

Fun squizo theory. It is rumored that a scene where James kills Eddie was cut from the theatrical version but will be included with the Blu-Ray release.

What's funny is that Eddie, just like Laura and Angela, is one of James's alter egos.
