I think I had a premonition for this. I was at a really fancy restaurant for Halloween and "Promise (Reprise)" somehow snuck into whatever Chinese "relaxing piano music" playlist they had on the speakers.
That REDEMPTION/SUFFERING/DAMNATION choice system looks like a fucking parody.
 
Well the only positive thing that I can foresee coming out of this whole shitshow is that its at least funny bad. I probably would have looked at the first episode for 10 seconds and then closed it down and forget about it for the next ten years, only to remember it even exists when it shows up in one of those "the rise and fall of SH" videos. The same thing I did when I mentally blocked everything after 4, however, this Ascension shit has made me interested in the series for the first time in like 20 years just to witness the clusterfuck. Take note developers, when you rush out your shitty product at least have the common descency to make it entertaining like this and don't forget to have a meltdown on social media so we can at least gleam some joy out of making fun of you.

Yeah, I thought the ending in itself was kind of clever- I like it when happy resolutions aren’t the default- but I think because it was a Silent Hill adaptation, people (myself included) wanted a bit more parity with the original story.

Revelations was absolute trash. I’m preaching to the choir at the point but if you’re going to butcher the plot that’s one thing, but in several scenes they also fucked up execution, like having the camera out of focus, and having a boom mic in frame.

The only potentially redeeming thing I see at this point about the upcoming new Silent Hill movie is that Christophe Ganz (SH1) is directing it and not whoever did Revelations.
 
Unless "special origin story" is him spawning in a dark room, then making a line towards James from behind the bars, it WILL blow.
 
Pyramidhead's origin? So instead of watching a tape we're going to play out killing Mary?
 
I left it alone. After 2014. One of the greatest media creative franchises imagined, I left it alone. Heard the cries for the new slop they're putting out and forgot. Contented myself with playing the first 4 discs on my PS2 every year. Then, then I see the title of this thread pop up. Fear, deep black fear, radiates through my heart. I have not heard a peep since the first announcements.

And you niggers make posts reminding me that the Jews have Silent Hill now.
