You did? It looks like crapwhat the fuck is this shit. i wanted to play this thing
4 has really good level design though the fact that you can re-arrive in these places and remember things that you previously couldn't do anything with to solve their second half is good design. Just because you don't like the level reuse doesn't make it bad design. It also helps when you're planning your way through when taking Eileen's shortcomings in mind since you have a good sense of where you are already. It also has more levels than 1 or 2. 3 is debatable depending on how you break it up but id say mall, subway, sewer, office, hospital, amusement park, nowhere would be the true count.4’s biggest problem is it’s questionable level design, particularly the game forcing you to go through the same levels twice for some reason. Other than that the game is scary as hell, possibly the scariest in the series, and the story is debatably the best as well. At the very least in terms of the games that focus on the cult. Silent Hill 2 is still up there in writing.
Unironically the answer to Higurashimigrating clouds of fart gas.
In Silent Hill of all things? And it's not even in America, what the hell is going on with this game?
FIFY, and the answer is rampant semite buyouts/infiltration of their industries since the late-80s financial crash gimped their economy seemingly eternally. When your animu has "produced by Warner Bros. Japan" on it, you should be going yikes. In Silent Hill of all things? And it's not even in America, what the hell is going on with Japan?
I think the story has a lot of plot holes, it's unbelievably interesting and arguably is the best fit for a movie, but a lot of the story requires extra context that only came from out-of-game website material. Half of the game being undercooked padding definitely doesn't help, and the theming and Lynch-o-meter doesn't come close to SH2, or even 1 and 3 for that matter. It's a shame because I think Walter is the best villain SH has ever had. Especially if you prescribe to the theory that Valtiel is possessing him and much of what happens isn't actually his fault.4’s biggest problem is it’s questionable level design, particularly the game forcing you to go through the same levels twice for some reason. It's the writer, Ryukishi07, who's behind this. My guess is after his attempts to branch out in writing failed, he's sworn to only ever rip-off his first series of (visual) novels, Higurashi. (At least that's all he's done since he ran away from writing more Ciconia... he says its cos of Ukraine but we all know he wrote himself into a corner, the god damned hack.) So the location change was probably at his insistence. Honestly surprised r07 isn't being mentioned at all, his attachment to F was the game's main selling point when it was announced. He's always been a (Jap-equivalent) lefty too, so the feminazi referencing going on here isn't much of a surprise either. Even if this marketing campaign didn't roll out I'd still advise not to buy, he's a real hack of a storyteller, with his most recent works being of especially poor quality (cough cough Sotsugou HACK)In Silent Hill of all things? the f is for feminism
the feminism angle I knew was gonna be there when fucking R07 was revealed to have written it.
Would any kiwis be kind of to expand upon Ryukishi's lefty slant? I've always heard about Higurashi more about it being sorta edgy despite the anime visuals. It's the last series I'd guess to have a lefty/feminist slant. He's always been a (Jap-equivalent) lefty too, so the feminazi referencing going on here isn't much of a surprise either.
With rare exceptions, the best indicator for future sales is the reception of a game and not actual sales. My go to example is the Devil May Cry series. The 1st game was successful financially but most importantly it was very well received. This translated to good sales numbers of DMC2. However, as most people know, that game is dog shit and as such it affected the sales of DMC3 despite its very good reception. The good reception of DMC3 translated into DMC4 being the best selling game in the series at the time despite it arguably being a half finished game that you go through twice over.I think Konami's noticed that the only people glazing their remake of 2 are fake fans on reddit. I'll be surprised if it translates to sales.
I was looking for more on his lefty slant and found this on his wikipedia entry:Even if this marketing campaign didn't roll out I'd still advise not to buy, he's a real hack of a storyteller, with his most recent works being of especially poor quality (cough cough Sotsugou HACK)

He's written woman-centric stories with conflicts revolving around the female experience.
This is actually not new to Silent Hill as 3 already has plenty of that.
Silent hill 3 was never about women's rights and feminism. It was more about the effects of abusive cults and coping with the trauma of rape and teen pregnancy. Never once did they bring up women voting or anything associated with more modern feminism(women being better than men, the patriarchy or the equity fallacy). If silent hill F is going to be more explicitive about it' themes of feminism. Then i'm going to expect the plot fo centre around the villians being older conversvitive men, that represent the patriachy. With the main character's arc centring around her besting her male peers. This is actually not new to Silent Hill as 3 already has plenty of that.
Did anyone else notice the teaser for Return to Silent Hill came out? I have no faith in it.
Yes, but what I'm seeing people say is all of the games are feminist down to the roots, the entire franchise, not just Silent Hill 3.SH3 has multiple levels that involve Heather being stalked, a common fear that affects more women than men. The obvious metaphors to being forced to birth something that you never wanted inside you to begin with. One of the very first puzzles involve you using a wire hanger, gathering cleaning supplies, using a nutcracker. If you want to say it's not feminist that's fine but to say that those things don't mean anything is obtuse.

I'd put him more in the category of Japanese that sees liberal politics as glamorous without understanding the vile reality of it, which is at least semi defensible.Would any kiwis be kind of to expand upon Ryukishi's lefty slant?
