Its kind of crazy to make a game demonizing marriage and family when your nation's birthrate is in the criticals and your politicians are flooding the nation with rapist troops that will culturally enrich the women after feminism shockingly being unable to bail them out of that sort of toxic masculinity, alongside with slowly but surely culturally and ethetically replace you in your own homeland.
But hey, Im just an observant passerby*, commenting on the current state of a franchise he once loved. Nothing more.
*Slowly but surely watching western society crumble before my eyes because people are too afraid of being called racist and anti-semites
It's easier to call the walking fedora who wrote this dumpster fire a retarded faggot.
He looks like a japanese Linkara
Everyone reduces it to, "Oh it doesn't have to be in Silent Hill to be a Silent Hill game". But the differences are way deeper than it being set in another location. They could carry over these cultural influences even within a Japanese setting. They chose not to. That can and should be criticized. It shares some of the same themes and ideas with the original games, but so do dozens of other horror games. This game could have been set in the original Silent Hill town and it would still not feel like Silent Hill.
Some tourists (or shill brainwashed veterans) are throwing the "Silent Hill 4 wasnt technically set in the town and its still beloved". They love to throw the "false equivalent" argument because it requires to ignore, most often than not intentionally, important context.
SH 4 had one or two sections that do take place in it (very close to the start of the game iirc) even if they are short and the game still not only shares a lot of lore connections to the city but it keeps the style of the game reasonably loyal to the previous 3 game despite some changes even in the gameplay. Its like they knew that even if they are shoehorning the title Silent Hill into this, they still should try to justify it as much as possible. They didnt have to but they had integrity.
Silent Hill f's connections are extremely superficial and truly feel shoehorned in because Konami didnt have faith in this project by itself. And you know what, it worked because normies and tourists that have no understanding of the franchise bought it and are now acting like the series has always been about this.
Oh yes, I feel like I should add this, it should be obvious what I'll say but most gaming youtubers are shills. They will sell you out and recommend garbage as long as they keep getting benefits. They have a pricetag and corporations will pay it.
So any of them saying that Silent Hill f is the next best thing since Silent Hill 2 and a "brand new start" or a "return to form" or some gay nonsense like that, they have sold out your trust and dont deserve your views and should be disliked out of principle.
There is nothing gayer than Silent Hill fans arguing about the lore. Nothing.
Especially modern* Silent Hill lore.
*anything post Team Silent
I’ll see you and raise you: there’s an argument in the Fallout thread about the lore of bottlecap currency. We’re talking gayness only observed via inter-dimensional travel on the Event Horizon.
At least it has a point there, usually to send across that the Bethesda entries dont bother to explain whats giving value to these things while the Interplay/Obsidian entries bothered to explain it (they werent even around in F2 technically, only as a gag in a mission).
There really isnt much to "argue" there. Its a mere comparison between writers that give a shit and those that didnt, nothing more or less.
