I played the originals at release. I'm not a zoomer or a tourist.

Working hard to finish a game is not the same as being an autistic retard who can't take a joke. A lot of people in very serious situations use humour to deal with them. Plenty of games made during serious crunch periods have jokey easter eggs and silly jokes in them.
Anyone saying "Silent hill 2 is serious business" has to deal with the dog ending existing. It's a joke within the game and it's a legit ending. And the team themselves say "all the endings are cannon" which means the dog ending is THE cannon ending. As much as Water or Leave is. It's a valid reading of the entire series to say "A dog is just fucking with sad people" according to the original team.
How do you reconcile those points? Poor Angela, raped by her Daddy.. cause lol a dog thought it was funny. Totally valid reading of SH2. And it doesn't need a 20 hour essay to say it.

The tourist is trying to argue the games aren't serious because there's joke endings you have to go out of your way to get. Yeah bro, the story about James murdering his wife is actually a comedy, he's the only one that gets it. The game's intended tone is accurately conveyed by seeing the dog ending on yt before you even know wtf the title is.
Those are achieved after beating the game. The core experience is in tact in spite of silly easter eggs anyway, The subject matter is not taken lightly by the game.

We're at the point where bad voice acting is now considered good because it's old. Japanese people directing amateurs gets stunted performances. They're from an era where voice acting was bad in games and it's a bit awkward all over the place back then. Watching SH2 remake comparison videos they act like the original were cinematic master classes and they weren't. Many lines in SH2 original don't land. They're awkward and emotions are express weirdly and jump around in ways that are just bad direction from people who don't speak English.
They we're, there's one bad line in sh2 and its when James says hes not crazy to angela because he says it in a joking way when it should probably be more sincere. Otherwise the old voices are fantastic.

They were ok, I think it's just because the acting in the HD remaster and remake is abysmal, people are now latching on to the original voices as some sort of shakesperian level works. Same with how players started appreciating SH4 a lot more once non-Team Silent SH games started coming out, to the point where it went from being the black sheep of the bunch to a misunderstood masterpiece.

Guy is not a grifter for liking system shock demake lol especially after establishing "it's not like I hate remakes on principle" seconds in.
This is one of the best fucking videos (honestly THe best) on the remake over the years pre release and post-release, I've watched many hour or two hour long ones. This one takes the cake and points out everything wrong with it on every level, while also expecting you to know the original game well enough on your own. Definitely subscribing. Dude should back his channel up.
Covers every issue I've noticed about it, and on top of that criticizes the actual music composition in a better way than I could.

The remake forgot it like I've said billions of times here and anytime it's used as a good example of a remake.
There is an imposing theme with the monsters and environment of SH2 that not only has sex and death but also soured flesh which is what the remake is missing along with being too clean and shiny. Remake designs of lying figures opt for SH3 inspired weave designs for their first reveal instead of the original variant. Masahiro Ito lost his touch. Don't trust the word of freelance artists who act as if they're spokespersons for the original Team Silent. Shit not even the original sh2 director is safe from being retarded about the remake.
Remember that nothing is sacred among developers and times change.
