Sorry for double posting but holy shit. I never thought I'd be using this thread for anything serious but some HUGE drama just hit twitter regarding a friend of his and his former girlfriend/fiance.
Here's what went down.
A few days ago, Simpleflips's girlfriend posted a document on twitter
(Her account has since been protected, so unfortunately I'm too late to read or archive it) apparently alleging that Simpleflips had been abusing and cheating on her for 4 years, using the "power dynamic" of his streaming career to prey on fans (such as herself.) and forcing her to quit her streaming career. She seemingly accuses him of using it to cheat on her with some fat nonbinary chick over the internet named Bre.
Now normally thats the end of things for a mildly successful streamer. Except apparently the Leah situation has been going on for a very long time. Simpleflips is a very genuine person who has a lot of close friends and he, Bre, and Nolan have all posted their own documents in retort.
Let's start with Simple's. Simp met Leah over discord about 4 years ago. At the time he had a much smaller fanbase so he became friends with a lot of his fans. Just about all of his current friend group started out as friends, as Nolan will point out later. Leah was his first real relationship, however, and as it turns out, she was an utter leech. She would keep begging him for free stuff, wouldn't pay for anything, and constantly trashed his house. She started becoming insanely jealous and manipulative too, to the point of guilt tripping him for looking at porn on his phone or talking to people in his twitch chat. Simple also revealed that Leah refused to look for a job and was herself insistent on quitting her own streaming, her only source of income. Around a year into their relationship he became fed up with her laziness and slobbish nature and broke up with her, but despite no longer being in a relationship with him she kept policing his chat and conversations with friends. For some reason or another, Simple got back together with Leah, (though not living with her. He doesn't elaborate much on this.) only for Leah to become worse once he moved to Facebook streaming. She'd start stalking fans on social media and forcing him to break up friendships. This leads into where Bre comes in. Bre was nice to simpleflips (and also has a boyfriend) so they became close friends. Since Bre lived in ohio, Simple offered to let Bre hang out with him while he was visiting Scott The Woz. Leah became so jealous over this casual friendship that she moved into Simple's home without permission and started forcing him to ignore Bre, to the point of snatching his phone and forcing him to type out a breakup message word for word while he sobbed at the computer. 18 months later, out of the blue, Leah apologizes to Bre and Simple and Simple broke up with her one final time, even going so far as to give her the revenue from his new website so she'd be able to finish college and leave him the fuck alone. For what little good it did, as this month Leah released her document accusing him of the aforementioned slights. The rest of the document is refuting a few points she made and its one of the few places you can see bits and pieces of her document.
Bre then posted their perspective of the Leah situation to back up Simpleflips.
There's not a lot in it that Simple hasnt already said, but there is one thing Bre says that sticks out, namely that they had asked her specifically for permission to meet Simple and that Leah at the time was pretending to be friends with them. Leah said she was fine with it and Bre has screenshots to prove it. Bre also reiterates that they are already in a relationship and have no romantic interest in Simple.
Which finally brings us to
Nolan's side of the story.
Simple had apparently come to live with Nolan for weeks at a time just to get away from Leah. Nolan also points out that Simpleflips had no power dynamic because at the time he only had 30k subscribers on youtube, which frankly is fucking nothing as far as fame goes. Leah is an adult and made every decision of her own volition. He then goes on to point out that Simple and Bre are still just friends months after the breakup and if Simple really wanted to be with Bre, they'd be together by now. Nolan then goes on to corroborate Simple's story that Leah had forced him to break up with his friends online as he opened up to his friends about how devestated it made him while he was there. Nolan also mentions that he had to edit out several moments in videos where Leah had been yelling at Simple offscreen. He goes on to call everything Leah says bullshit.
TL;DR, simple falls in love with a crazy golddigger, crazy golddigger finds out twitch streamers don't actually make that much and has a public meltdown.
