It took me a second to realize that Ino has two legs in this image instead of one broken absurdly long leg. And even then her right leg is half the size of her left.
all was well.. i just thought it was typical ugly lesbian art... until i noticed the neo-lesbian flag pins
Just went through the last few pages and boy, do I wish people just learn anatomy and proportions. -_-

Okuyasu (boťtom) looks like a rabid monkey with that face and ears.
Josuke's hands and fingers look non-human.
Question: Someone said earlier that these artists draw like this because it gives them attention. Do you think that includes negative attention? Would they want to stick around if they're being told that their art looks garbage or would it empower them?
Seeing negative criticism on Tumblr art is rare, even if the artwork is particularly shit-tier. The website is an echo chamber because the people that fill it are usually the type of people who are non-confrontational, passive-aggressive losers.
Tumblr is supposedly all about supporting and being (fake)nice to each other. Whenever I saw anything remotely close to criticism it's usually prefaced with "I'm not trying to be mean" or "don't take this the wrong way" sort of shit.
They also have this mentality that if you draw with the same broke-ass art style everyday you'll magically improve, or that their "unique" broke-ass art style will bring them attention. For that former mentality, people usually over look shit-tier art and go on to ass-patting and encouraging each other.
I mean there's nothing wrong with supporting a fellow artist but if all you do is compliment someone whose art has glaring errors then you can't expect them to want to fix it.
Because of the social climate if any harsh criticism came from someone offsite, artists are able to make themselves become the victim while their followers came to their defense.
Then the whole SocJus thing hit and that made things even worse because it gave certain people a layer of protection to deflect the rare criticism that comes their way. And everyone else who didn't have high oppression points would usually be too scared to speak up or else they'll provoke the SJW whiteknights. That said, SocJus also gave them a justification to be assholes to each other. That's why every criticism that comes out of Tumblr is "This isn't PC enough and this is SJWBuzzword-phobic!" and when their hit gains traction they really start to show their true colors, just as we saw in the Zamii controversy. It doesn't matter wether your art is generic Tumblr shit or good-quality like in the case of Gashi-Gashi (the Japanese artist who "white-washed" Garnet).
As for why they do fan art.
1) It starts from a genuine interest for the source material, at least usually.
2) They can't come up with their own shit.
3) Tumblr isn't a site that's actually meant for artists. On Tumblr there is rarely an artist who will survive with their own ideas unless they're particularly amazing or at the very least above-average. Even Original Character art that gains popularity is usually tied to a fandom, like Homestuck Fantrolls or Pony OCs. Or, in the case of SocJus Tumblr––you push a political agenda with your art.
People on Tumblr thrive on attention, wether that's primarily drawing fandom art or pushing their stupid headcanons to provoke people or bullying people on their SJW moral high horse.
Sure they like to draw a lot but I rarely feel that genuine love for art that makes you want to actually improve.
Speaking of,
I was befriend need by this artist back in my Tumblr days who made OCs tied to a fandom and I thought she had some potential as an artist. But when it became clear to her that her purely fandom art brought her attention she made a gradual shift to doing just that.
The Tumblr symptoms started popping up, she stuck to a generic ass art style she could use to mass-produce fan works....all while plastering a link to a money-donation site (Ko-Fi) in the description. And although she sacrificed quality and originality, I say begrudgingly; good for her cause it actually worked––she now has a small following who throw money at her.
The only good thing is that heavy-handed SJW tropes usually don't feature in her art but she definitely has the same mentality.
I mean, the skin looks a little ashy but it’s not... horrible? Pixel work looks really good, and tbh if this was someone’s centaur oc I wouldn’t give it a second lookAw, the fugly thing I wanted to post got posted last page...oh well, have backup:

The blackwashing literally ruins the entire color scheme and looks reeeally last-minute.
This does not count as black washing. Black washing would be erasing an ethnicity or/and does a race-bend inaccurately. Fans of MLP FIM characters would draw them human in their head cannon race before the rise of Tumblr on DeviantArt since they are ponies and their skin colors is just pastel colors. Unless pink is a race.Aw, the fugly thing I wanted to post got posted last page...oh well, have backup:

no one questioned the prosthetic legsThis one's not halfway bad, tbh; the artist is clearly better than many of the idiots seen here. If only the "WITH LESBIANS!" wasn't done for woke points...

Oh, FFS. I don't dislike the "cis person helps their trans/nb sibling" idea per se, but Mokuba is like... 10 in canon? And according to the "commisioner" s/he is already on hormones? At least the art itself isn't hideous, but still.
The centaur part looks a bit weird, but the weirdest thing is that fact that her arms start to turn pink at the elbows and her fingers are bright pink.Aw, the fugly thing I wanted to post got posted last page...oh well, have backup:

From what I remember it was a Japanese person who didn’t speak much, if any, English and had no frame of reference for American norms let alone the concept of “white washing” in art, so a lot of the flack they got revolved around those two points.
So they basically got driven off Tumblr for not being American and never really understood why so many people were sending them angry messages and threats.
Worst part was it didn’t even seem like white-washing or deliberately making Garnet lighter (and even if they were it’s fucking fan art), they were just trying to emphasize the glow emanating from her gems.

Also, I think this is relevant.

My first thought was that Kaiba was somehow responsible for Mokuba's missing legs, so he bought him fancy prosthetics to alleviate his guilt. And hormones and dresses too, why not.no one questioned the prosthetic legs![]()

Agreed, like strawberry and chocolate ice cream. If this is about the colors, I think the brown skin does look good with the hair color and eye colors to balance a similar shade. Although the sprinkles show be slightly small and more brighter to pop out. Other than that, I really like it.
Oh come on, I love strawberry and chocolate ice cream.Agreed, like strawberry and chocolate ice cream.
