It never fails to amaze me that the SJWs themselves only understand a group of people through a stereotypical lens. Latin America is incredibly varied with countries that are almost 100% full blooded European to countries that are almost 100% full blooded Native American, with countries like Colombia and Mexico being predominantly mixed. You could easily have a Columbian family with people of both a fair and dark complexion.


Not really. White Americans and native Europeans are nearly homogeneous based on DNA studies, excluding the margin of error (being about 5-15% in DNA ancestry testing), especially those of Anglo descent who have historically had a very strong in group preference. So if a kid randomly comes out dark it’s probably from recent admixture that the family would be aware of (even if they deny it, like Sanda Laing’s mother). That is unless you don’t consider Celts or Meds white and are referring to the occasional ginger popping up.

I'm not necessarily talking about kids "coming out dark" but even subtle change in skintones, such as someone looking mediterranean despite having parents who are white with rosy undertones.

The way you put ‘white families’ in quotation suggested that you were alluding to non European admixture, rather than referring to the occasional Italian looking German. Again that is unless you only consider the Germanic ethnicity (Anglos, Germans, Scandinavian etc.) as white. Assuming you were talking about intra-racial variation, then yes, Europeans are incredibly varied and have historically mixed together since forever.

I actually like this one. Fits the theme and its simple.

The author even had a map made. I confess this is confusing to me.

Their world takes place on an island. The story involves Altair going out to war for seven years, presumably he went on a ship to other landmasses. The other landmasses are not mentioned nor are these other areas. Their military encampment is near a flat volcano while their grain fields are...out in the middle of the ocean? Volcanic soil is fertile. You should plant where the soil is rich.

The city centre is far away from the military encampment and there are no mentions of garrisons. Communities are spread out from the city to the tip of the island. I think she was trying to model this off of Hawaii or the Polynesian islands but didn't do that much reading. The City of Nine resembles Jerusalem or Acre yet, again, the military encampment is a good ways away.

Not only that, but in this society, child marriage is completely legal despite supposed equality between men and women.
