This is why I didn't like it when they made Bridget trans. Not only was it unnecessary, but it made the character's fandom a space for some of the most horrible human beings on this planet. In other words, fatherless teens and mentally stunted manchildren. What's sad is that this happens to any "cute" LGBT media - think of Adventure Time, Nu-Ra, The Owl House and Steven Universe.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Bridget's whole deal that he wanted to prove he was a man regardless of how he looked? I feel like by becoming trans he kinda proves himself wrong. Plus it basically implies he transition out of peer pressure rather than actually coming naturally to him.

The excuse is that GG Strive is all about coming to terms with who you are and that Bridget was essentially lying to himself by "forcing" himself to live as a man when he was actually more comfortable as a girl all along. So yeah, it's a bullshit retcon.

lmao if people really cared about disavowing the gender binary, no one would be trans. The belief that men can't dress femininely and that women are delicate sex objects is what makes people believe they must either conform to stereotypes or change their gender in order to be true to themselves and live well in society, at least to my understanding.

I get it, the fanart comes from a good place. But it can sometimes turn into nothing but virtue-signaling for the sake of attention and peer pressure to force others to position themselves about a complex multifaceted conflict with decades of history. I feel like this is a huge problem with both radical Israel and Palestine activists alike: They're oversimplifying a wildly complex issue. This is also a bad habit of social justice warriors.

Wtf?? How does this help spread the message? This feels like a spit in the face to the people suffering out there. Imagine being at risk of losing everything you have, and learning that thousands of people have banded together to… trade fanart of cartoon characters waving your country flag and celebrating. I’d be fucking pissed. These drawings are not impactful to anyone outside of the fandoms they cater to, the members of whom are almost definitely participating in this pseudo-activism already. No government official or military is going to see this and have a change of heart, nor is anyone even remotely connected to those in power. Not on have I seen people talk about writing to their government officials or organizing anything more than a one-day strike. The most I’ve seen is protests in the street several months ago and a video of people shoplifting Israel-sourced products from a local drugstore. ????
I remember about a week ago seeing the spread of the news about that one safe territory being bombed or whatever, and people lamenting and saying shit like “we’ve failed the Palestinians.” Uh, no shit! They don’t need your fan art or your pity. Either accept the circumstances or take actual actions towards making things better. Ive accepted that my efforts are best directed towards working towards my goals and making a difference in areas immediate and of interest to me, but keyboard warriors feel obligated to spread their efforts across every tragedy ever and effectively fail to do anything important in the end. Not a word of advice as to how to make a change is passed around with this art, nothing motivating or instructive. This is the shittiest propoganda movement I have ever seen.

Yes, Bridget's arc was that he was raised as a girl to hide he was a twin, because of superstition. He then wanted to loose his girly upbringing but eventually just gave up. It's literally the Story of a boy getting mentally broken by groomers.
