It's always those giant, fat noses, those misshapen potato faces and fat, ugly bodies - sometimes combined with Steven Universe-like lips, body hair and beady eyes. Usually those 'artists' all look the same irl and type the same way. It's like someone cloned the worst kind of SJW and spread it all over the globe.

this is sad, because their art is so close to being passable. if they dropped the progressive uwu facade(those awful noses and random racebends) and stopped using terrible color schemes, it would be so much better.

speaking of which, does anyone else notice the color scheme that's so common in these types of drawings? it's simultaneously oversaturated and overwhelming, yet dull at the same time. i think it's due to the abuse of the luminocity/shade option on paint tool sai. to avoid actually looking at how shading works in relation to color, they just use one color to shade and then use that setting to try and make it look bright. it's really obvious when they do it, because the lineart becomes very saturated and dark, and the color used to shade doesn't fit at all. it's jarring.

it sucks because the setting can be used well in certain cases, but it mostly comes off as lazy. even when used correctly, i've grown to dislike it just because it's so obvious when it is used.

Plenty of people have pointed it out in this thread, but these artist can't color to save their life. It's pretty clear that they have no knowledge on color theory or how lights and shadows affect an overall space. They just put it in multiply, shade, luminosity and call it a day. There's a reason why you should learn anatomy and drawing from real life early. It's because the earlier you notice that an object exists in a 3d space, the better you can understand the color placement of these works. Shadows aren't clearly defined lines on a body, there are plenty of places for the body to have shadow that is muddy, but I doubt these people would know that.

This is also the reason why you shouldn't draw anime first. Yeah, it exists in a 2D space, but what these artists fail to understand is that the professionals who make good anime art had a grasp of real life works and how they exist in reality. When you only know how an object exists in one plane of course your drawing is going to suck. You can't draw shoulders because you don't know what muscles it's connected to. You can't draw hands because you don't understand that wrist are essentially what holds the hand together to the arm.

When you draw in anime, you can skips those steps because it's so simple and easy to do. Why do you think so many of these people draw in anime style. Is it really because they like the work (considering what they do probably not) or is it because they know they can be lazy and get away with it? To add on to that giving these characters real life features just makes it worse because its clear they don't know how hair functions on a body or how a skin condition is affected by light.

I'll go on a limb and claim that these artists are probably young and have time to change, but I doubt that will happen due to how huge their egos are.
