What I realized going through these threads is that the brown these artists choose for POC characters are ALWAYS some muddy saturated brown. ALWAYS. People can have a similar skintone in real life, don't get me wrong. But for christ's sake, look up a new color palette for skin. Darker-skinned people can have a variety of skin tones, yet it's ALWAYS paired with the worst fashion sense, colors, and so forth. And it's not like you can't even make it work, the color choices just have to be good. BUT INSTEAD, we get this! Thousands of tutorials on skin colors to use. Colors you can eye-drop as these people constantly go on and on about. And this is it? This is best representation of black people? East Asians? South Asians? I refuse. But remember when it comes to THEIR fanservice (like Yaoi/Yuri) that goes out the window. I haven't seen people say to make the Free! guys fat, black and with vitilego or you're racist. Just saying (at least not now).

I used to like siins.tumblr.com, they weren't anything special, at least in the scope of the entire internet, but they had nice linework and they were pretty daring about making faces expressive.

Christ, they had potential at the start but I don't know what went wrong with them. Were they constantly staying in a hug/comfort box and didn't bother tackling subjects they've never drawn before? Were they not accepting constructive criticism over the years? Did they fall for the "just draw" meme and study mindlessly without a set goal in mind? I just don't know. The Susie one is somehow the ONLY newer artwork they did that I like but that's probably because she isn't a human/humanoid so you can't fuckup her anatomy as much.

I think this style could work with enough practice, it's not awful but really lazy. The character needs a new wardrobe, a more dynamic pose and the artist should try to draw the body in an other way. The head, the body and the legs are in a completely different and a not matching style. It's like the artist found 3 different art style they liked and didn't know how to blend them so they drew one thing this way and the other thing that way.
I'd love to show how to make this style more appealing but I can't tell if this is supposed to be a guy or a girl and I am not the gambler type so I'm gonna pass that for now... unless someone enlightens me of this things gender.

Fucker can't get the fucking dimensions right, literally Polnareff's head is supposed to be 2x the size of the hair on top of his head, not the other way around.

Ears pop out way too much, Polnareff's face from that same angle almost forms a straight line from his chin to his eyebrow, imagine his chin to be a rectangular prism, that is how it is supposed to be.

Basically the same problems, ears pop out too much (And are way too big in this case), head is way too taller than it should be, also why does jotaro have dick-sucking lips???

Also, why the fuck is the jawline and the chin mostly correct here but Polnareff's is wayyyy off?
