if prisons were completely abolished, what are we gonna do with the serial killers, pedophiles, and other actual dangerous people? according to them these people deserve rehabilitation. which is funny because the most extreme anti prison people are usually commies who have some sexual abuse allegations thrown against them.

they probably just want prison to be abolished so they can whack it to child porn with no consequences other than state funded therapy.

you're totally right. You would just think for people that want to put black people out more on display (which tbh, if tastefully or artfully done idgaf if they do) they would make them more interesting to look at than: "link is black and has dreads now get over it uwu"

They're fucked either way because a lot of the characters they like to racebend (unsurprisingly, they're often prettyboys) have long or at the very least unkempt or flowing hair. SJW styles are so damn simplified that the hair is just about the main attention-grabbing and unique thing about the character's head. Noses, mouths and eyes all tend to look the same, and most characters they make fanart of don't have the piercings they love to staple onto their OCs.

The upshot is that, in order to keep the signature long/styled hair on said character, they pretty much have to go with box braids or dreads. Because a black character with naturally unkempt or long hair has a... very good chance of just ending up with a huge afro or a palm tree sprouting out of their heads, Sideshow Bob-style. Which is another damn set of tropes in and of themselves, but for our purposes here neither usually make the character very familiar. Black Link with a 'fro just plainly doesn't look recognizably like Link even if the outfit matched. If they went with reasonably straight or wavy hair, which can happen among black people with mixed ancestry, they would get accused of whitewashing because the idealized SJW black person cannot have anything other than frizzy hair.

So, their racebends are stupid, and they can't even try to make them better. SJW art is an ideological trap: you're beholden to drawing certain things (like racial minorities) in very specific ways and if you don't you're a racist.

To be honest, I think that link design is pretty cute. He's black, but completely recognizable and pretty without being a characture or screaming something dumb at the top of his lungs. The extra details on his outfit make him seem like another incarnation of link like the canon games. It follows the guideline this one artist put out:

That black Link is actually very well drawn, IMO. The light hair + dreads combo irks me, though. Maybe I'm too used to being around mixed-race people, but I'd be perfectly fine with Link there being drawn with dark wavy/curly hair instead. You can do a similar hair style there without having to resort to the mandatory dreads.
