SJWs hate attractive women irrespective of context unless they fill out the proper forms in triplicate. C-No and I discussed this quite a bit, but the TL;DR is that they don't care the context. Their own mindset is one that says their own interpretation of a character or event has automatic primacy, even over authorial intent and a work of fiction's own universe. As a good example, in the first post in this thread, we have some crazy guy in swedish with their own AMAZING character re-designs that, by councidence, defeminize every female character and undermine every design on the list. But the trutly great part comes in when you read the comments, where the artist states openly that they hate fighting games. Even if every aspect of their character is discussed in-canon for why they may dress or look a certain way, SJWs aren't able to care.

I remember that Liana K once brought this up, but SJWs feel that attractive women, especially ones with big breasts, don't have a right to exist, despite the fact that there's fucking plenty of women who identify with such characters, not only because (shock of shocks) they have generous physiques as well, but because the characters in question are the epitome of a power fantasy for them. They're fucking badass. Fuck, even if they're a character expressly intended to be such a power fantasy, it doesn't matter to the so-called SJWs. Their relativistic interpretation is always right, and, as such, anyone who disagrees is automatically a shitlord. It's important to note that in this, even though there's a huge amount of body types represented in works, the SJW brain does not see this. It sees one type: Attractive - and labels it enemy. Meanwhile any dipshit knows there's a world of difference in the physiques, movements, and body structures of every character on that list. For fuck's sake, most polls list Hilde as the hottest girl in Soul Calibur IV, and she wears fucking full plate. Because of this SJW war-on-attractive females bullshit, they're having less female diversity, not more. And what, exactly, is shaming attractive female characters if not body shaming?

It's not just females, either. They do it to males, too, but with less success. You'll never see them argue in favor of a fat guy, even if it's one who's pretty goddamned awesome. In fact, hilariously, Brianna Wu already fucking did this whilst claiming that Shantae was about Fat-Shaming, in an attempt to shame the game's attractive female protagonist. Because Brianna Wu's cast of Bratz Dolls were fine and progressive, but it's LITERALLY SATAN when anyone else does it.

And so, I say, with complete straight-laced defiance:

Fuck yourselves, SJWs.

Content creators are free to use whatever design they and and should, at no point, be beholden to your feelings, and that shit is how it should be. It's not like you're gonna fucking buy these games and shit anyway. That fucking dipshit in the original post did all that hating fighting games. I'll take a million unrealistically buxom sorceresses and ambigously gay clones of Drizz't before I allow your one goddamned iota of your ideology-driven fuck-stickery to take priority. Context matters. Accept that or fuck the hell off.

Maybe I hate the feeling of having leg stubble and I like rubbing my smooth legs together like I'm a cricket.

Don't give me sass for it, you stupid flowchart.

And then we have CatBisquick, who doesn't try to blend in with Tumblr at all. Instead she goes: "Why the fuck doesn't Tumblr try to blend in with me?"

You go, my dear. Don't go changin' for nobody.

Oh, psshaw. You make me blush.

That being said, I'm totally on board with giving some variety in body types with video game characters. Variety is good! You can have scantily clad women, modestly dressed women, strong women, tiny women, what have you. I don't begrudge dudes who like fanservice mostly because I feel like it'd be pretty hypocritical of me. I just don't feel the need to get sanctimonious over what kind of characters should be in games. I think I'd much rather be positive and lift up the good examples so that maybe more people will emulate those in earnest, instead of just trying to pander to the fickle SJW crowd.

Fanservice for everyone! Games are fun! Let's have fun, dammit.

I just find it continuously amazing that they get mad people don't lower their expectations just because they do. Especially when they idolize and fetishize people that take care of themselves. Everyone just has to be as miserable and uncomfortable with themselves as they are otherwise it's terrible. But people have to treat me the same as someone who takes better care of themselves.

You're not going to get any of those British guys with cheekbones with your attitude/personal care, Tumblrite. Maybe a guy with lower standards...I hear the ones in fedoras that defend you all day would love it. They'd probably cook you a Dewrito feast while you discuss the patriarchy before a night of silent blogging.

Seeing that sometimes male designs do get criticized of being over-the-top (screw stylization) I'd like to show you this one on Disney's Hercules.

Well, gosh. It's almost like the movie is animated and uses exaggerated figures for more interesting character designs. Especially since in two of those examples they're being compared to photos/realistic paintings and a lot of the analysis is drawn from normal human proportions.

Also, this:

This contributes to the idea that Mark Regnerus defends as the “vision of complementarity” — the insistence that children need a male and female parent — which drives opposition to same-sex marriage. If men and women are too similar, then we wouldn’t need them to be paired up in order to have complete families or sexual relationships.

Holy shit, what? Disney's choice in character design = Disney hates same-sex marriage? This is overthinking to the point of insanity. It's a fuckin' cartoon. Calm down.

I posted this in the Gamergate thread but I'm posting it here again because it's still relevant.
If you haven't read her personal story, please do, it's an interesting read.
You know, I was going to mention this but I got distracted by that dumb SVU episode.

So I got a friend who recommended this game called Senran Kagura that's published by XSeed. I know nothing about it other than it contains fanservice but I came across an article I found interesting:
https://archive.today/hEVQx
This article was talking about a magazine that slammed Senran Kagura for its fanservice content, especially the characters with large breasts and an XSeed employee who goes by Hatsuu made an angry rant about how the review was unfair because it said absolutely nothing about the game. I decided to look up this Hatsuu person because that name sounded familiar (still haven't figured out why) and found her Tumblr.
Went through some forum threads and saw someone talking about how an anonymous tumblr user got rekt by Hatsuu after accusing her of objectifiying women with avatars of breasts. Now that whole breasts thing I mentioned up there? Turns out it's a personal thing for Hatsuu because she was bullied for having large breasts while growing up.

Since you brought up the "trap" fiasco, I found her opinions here:

And here's a NeoGAF thread where she had to clarify some things after a video gave grossly incorrect information about the game "Killer is Dead" (her input is down there somewhere)

Interesting to note that these happened just before Gamergate kicked off.

Oh my god. They're really going on about how the Disney and Paramount films exaggerate Herc's muscle mass?

That's got to be (one of) the stupidest reasons to be an SJW. I'd like to know why anyone would even want to pay attention to something this insignificant? Also:
Philip N. Cohen is a professor of sociology at the University of Maryland, College Park.

You really think that I'd take this shit seriously when a professor from an entirely different profession altogether talks about it? Please, make me laugh some more. :story:

A large part of what kills me about Anita's videos, is she'll totally ignore context, while at the same time actively try to guess the author's intent, usually in the least generous way possible. Probably the most blatant example of this being where she claims that the strippers in Hitman Absolution were put in the game so the players could kill them and stuff them in a bin, as a carefully concocted way to arouse the player. Of course, anyone who has actually played the mission will find it much easier to sneak by them, and possibly listen to them deliver some flavor text about the mission's bad guy, which is far more likely to be their purpose. I've seen her defenders use the argument that authorial intent doesn't matter, and it doesn't matter if the author is trying to be sexist, just how it ultimately comes off, but at the same time, try and ascribe nasty motivations to the creators if it suits their argument.

Basically, they want to be able to say nasty things about creators based on their totally subjective interpretations of works, while using "authorial intent and context don't matter" as a way of dismissing far more benign explanations.

Tycho from Penny Arcade put it pretty well in his editorial about Dragon's Crown
"It’s very weird to pull up a story about a game with frankly visionary art and hear why it shouldn’t exist, or to hear what I supposedly fantasize about, or what kind of power I supposedly revere, and any attempt to defend oneself from these psychotic projections or to assert that creators may create is evidence of a dark seed sprouting in the heart. It’s an incredible state of affairs. They’re not censors, though - oh, no no. You’ll understand it eventually; what you need to do is censor yourself."

I think that's really it. No matter the context of a given work, someone somewhere might be getting off on it, and that person might be an asshole. The prospect of sharing a fandom with that guy drives people crazy. Some fanboy could jerk off to Ivy, and an especially dumb/creepy player (say, DarkSydePhil) would probably laugh his ass off while killing those "Hitman" strippers, therefore nobody should even have the option.

To put it another way: Nick Bate loves They Might Be Giants. Now back in high school, TMBG was my "gateway" band - that is, the band that introduced me to the larger world of weird, non-top-40 music. They were the reason I flipped through stacks of old EPs in dusty record shops. Doing so, I discovered dozens of other bands that I now love, but I never would have found my way to any of them without TMBG. But gosh, a sick fuck like Nick Bate likes them, and they've never taken a strong stance against him or people like him, so I guess that makes them part of the problem, right? I should make a really angry post about how the fandom is toxic for tolerating a literal shitlord like Nick for so long. Except no, I'm not doing any of that because Nick doesn't affect the band, and Nick's taste in music doesn't really affect his victims.

That seems to be the recurring pattern here. It's not that the artists and writers are consciously perving out; it's that they're giving others the opportunity to potentially perv out in the future and therefore "ruin" a work. According to Tumblr, any artist who doesn't see that coming and work to prevent it might as well start selling actual porn. Fans will always find meaning in a work that the author didn't intend. The problems begin when those fans start assuming the worst about the meanings that everyone else is finding.

The problems begin when those fans start assuming the worst about the meanings that everyone else is finding.

And SJWs never consider the only disgusting, evil fucks who see what they do in the art they "criticize" are the disgusting, evil fucks in their mirrors.

I hate the whole mentality that an image of a popular work can trigger insecurities or fears. It seeks that along with SJWs, a lot of people react first, read later. Knee-jerk reactions cause bullshit like this. I actually talked with a friend and he brought it up like this: There are people in Congress who are trying to limit basic human rights for a large percentage of the population. And people here are crying over something that will barely affect them for five minutes.

I like how they make a big deal out of the "boobplate" when Batman's outfit in the comparison image emphasizes his pecs and abs just as much.
Oh wait no that's okay because it's a male power-fantasy but anything more than a uni-boob lump on Batgirl's chest is problematic

I live how ignorant all these kinds of blogs are. That Gold Age reboot is being written by Gail Simon. It's literally the definition of a woman feminist in comics making her career there, but fuck actual women making a living in a "man's" field, there's a fictional character who's honor needs protecting.

Someone as already answered that for you: "And BEFORE ANYONE JUMPS IN TO SAY THAT BATMAN HAS VISIBLE ABS AND PECS ON HIS ARMOR… first, they’re pretty streamlined compared to Barbara’s protruding breasts; second, his plate looks like it’s there for intimidation value, hers looks like your typical “if no boob how woman?”"

That was answered in the comments section. Basically, they just talked about how she's mistreated and such.

Some Stupid Tumblrite said:
WayForward is a games company which seems to make two types of games:

1. Games built around established licenses ranging from Adventure Time to Silent Hill

2. Games built around sexy ladies, mostly this one called Shantae

And yes… based off the screenshot that I came across recently they are as ridiculous as the promo image suggests:

Now, all me a heartless cynic… but I can’t help but think that if sex sells - they shouldn’t have to do all these license games to keep the lights on.

- wincenworks

All right, let's break this down for you. Shantae is an Indie Game success story. That means she has three (four, eventually) games under her belt. If you're not familiar, she was popular enough that she got fourth place in a poll of characters to add to the next Smash Brothers DLC, over characters like Goku, Phoenix Wright, and Solid Snake. As of this moment, a Shantae game has the top score in every area it's available on 3DS - Risky's Revenge is in the top five for DSiWare games, Shantae is one of, if not the single most downloaded Virtual Console title, and Pirate's Curse is in the top for downloadable games. Now, I know Wincen, being a Tumblretard, isn't familiar with how gaming works, but Shantae herself is widely regarded as a great character and attacks against the series piss me off because it's fought hard to get where it is. She started with a zero-budget game on Game Boy Color and has become one of the most successful Indie characters in video gaming history.

So let's discuss her outfit and sexiness, since none of that matters to captain Tumblretard.

Her outfit, which includes a red bedlah and Tiara, is cultural. Shantae is a dancer, and, as has been shown by Gaijin Goombah, using dancing reminiscent of Oriental Dans. The entire world of the game series evokes an Arabian Nights-esque theme, and you can listen to the fucking town theme to get an idea of what the general "feel" of the game world is.

It's important to note that Shantae also wears it because it's cultural in the game-world. Scuttle town has women in Arabian dresses carrying jugs of water, fellow dancers who work at the dancing hall Shantae occasionally part-times at, and guards wearing silk garb to keep the heat from being an issue. Shantae, being half-genie, also uses said dances as the medium for her magic use.

What's this? A CHARACTER WEARING AN OUTFIT FITTING FOR HER CHARACTER, WORLD, AND PERSONALITY?! WE CAN'T HAVE THAT. WE'D BETTER BITCH ABOUT THE VARIOUS ATTRACTIVE WOMEN IN IT BECAUSE THAT'S ALL WE HAVE.

C'mon, Wincen, you can fail harder than this! Why not take a cue from Brianna Wu and claim that Shantae fat-shames when a major plot arc has a character buck tradition and hook up with a dumpy-looking fat guy? Or even better, we can ignore the blatant He-Man reference in BRAN-SON, THE WORLD'S MOST CAPABLE MAN! He transforms when he holds aloft his enchanted sword and says the mystic words:

"Hey guys, we should go get matching purses! No reason they should just be for ladies anymore! Am I right, hey fellas don't leave, fellas come back!"

VtyEtf4l.jpg

Shantae is game series portraying a world of ridiculousness powered by silly and reveling in every second of its own inherent lunacy. That is exactly why it's enjoyable. The game does not, and needs not, ever give a fuck about what you and your SJW friends think of it. It kickstarted for close to a million bucks, which Wayforward mostly needed for matching funds.

So to wrap this failboat up with a bullet point, Wayforward is a publishing house. They match funds to allow Kickstarter programs and third-party development studios get a foot in the door where they otherwise wouldn't, and their accomplishments have been huge. If you took a look at the backlog for these games (Spoiler Alert: You didn't and won't, because that's problematic), you'd know that these games have been phenomenally successful. In fact, Wayforward has given life to franchises that otherwise would have died, and for that, it's fostered a wash of grateful gamers that without, these games wouldn't have happened. That this is lost on you is unsurprising, but ultimately doesn't matter: You don't matter to the people who will play these games, and your offense towards them means even less. You willing to lie and mislead, however, to score brownie points is eminently mockable and will never stop being funny.
