Well, who sows wind will reap the storm. In case he'll get any jail or prison time, he'd better hope to be away from gen pop. Since I don't think his particular personality would get him any friends, especially with all the stress from the environment - he could actually get into possible trouble.

He assaulted the Sheriff. I don't think there's any chance he avoids jail time.

Yeah, granted there's a difference between him slinking around the corners with everyone else, or him sitting alone in protective custody. Neither of which will do him any favours, but I think he shouldn't be placed to general population. Mainly since it'd count as extrajudicial punishment to everyone around him, those prisoners have rights too you know!

I have a big update, and then a huge update, and then a request.

My friend attended day two of the trial. She didn't arrive at the very beginning of the second day. When she came in, the jury had already heard from the arresting officer (Sheriff Dutton didn't make the final arrest as he was on his way to the hospital) and was at recess. The jury then heard the testimony of an independent neutral witness, who confirmed that Skylar punched the sheriff. With that, the prosecution had no more witnesses.

The defense called Skylar as their only witness. It didn't go well. His entire defense was that he never intended to hit Sheriff Dutton. Or that he couldn't be sure because of all the chaos. Or something.

Skylar was ridiculously argumentative on cross. He wouldn't even agree that there was no justification to push the sheriff, although he graciously agreed that punching Dutton was right out. The prosecutor, in dulcet tones of reason, got Skylar to dispute everything, even things that were not in doubt.

The prosecution's summary was tight and focused. It is illegal to punch the sheriff deliberately; Skylar punched the sheriff and then immediately justified this out loud; the punch did real damage to the sheriff. Anything else is a distraction. The pushing, the kick, the context, all do not matter; he's only charged with assaulting a peace officer. Skylar was not charged with resisting arrest or harassment or anything except assault on the Sheriff. The punch was deliberate, illegal, and injurious. All of the witnesses other than Skylar agreed to this. That's it.

The defense tried to throw out a bunch of distractions, and also mischaracterized the testimony of the witnesses. They tried to claim that Dutton was angry at the outset, but Dutton wasn't angry until he got punched in the face. They claimed that Skylar was trying to wriggle away from the sheriff; the footage doesn't support that. They claimed that no one was frightened or alarmed by Skylar's conduct before the punch, which was falsified by the direct testimony of several witnesses.

The prosecution pointed all of that out and rested their case.

The jury is out. Based on my friend's observation, she thinks Skylar is going to prison. We'll see, but it doesn't sound good for Tard Boy.

But here's the huge thing: Skylar is almost certainly going to be charged again.

On the way back from the lunch break this afternoon, Skylar initially refused to empty his pockets and go through the court's metal detector, saying "You know me by now." When he was told that no special exceptions are made even for judges entering the courthouse, he said to the guards: "Well, then, next time I'm gonna bring my gun and make you actually work for a living!" The Sergeant-at-Arms was summoned, and he told Skylar that if he didn't start acting right, he would arrest Skylar on charges of disturbing the peace. Skylar then shouted, "WHAT CHARGES?! WHAT????" The SaA reiterated that he would arrest Skylar for disturbing the peace if he didn't move along and Skylar's lawyers hustled him upstairs to the courtroom

My friend learned from another reporter in the court that last Friday - one working day before this trial was set to begin - Skylar demanded an emergency hearing on his motion to have the charges against him dismissed due to the "mental anguish and physical stress" resulting from the upcoming trial. Skylar took the stand in the hearing to give testimony that he knew he was stressed because he found some gray hairs even though nobody else in his family has ever gone gray by the age of 28. The prosecutor reiterated that the State has been very generous in its attempts to settle with Mr. Ittner which he rebuffed at at this point the State was fully ready to go to trial. The judge reportedly cut the prosecutor off mid-sentence and said, "Oh, we are going to trial. Motion dismissed. See you Monday, Mr. Ittner."

And now my request:

A reporter for the Helena Independent Record would like a link to the audio of Skylar's meeting with Carroll College. I've found a link to a transcription, but the audio would be nice. Can anyone find it in this thread?

Here you go (thank @Marvin). I listened just enough to confirm that the attachments still work.

I thank you, my father thanks you, my mother thanks you, and so on.

What a fucking day!

My friend is pretty sure that Skylar is going to get charged for today's outburst. The judge was very, very upset. If nothing else, the incident delayed the jury from reconvening. Nobody appreciates that.

"I'm going to come here with a gun and kill you."

He managed to fuck up a procedure that is 100% retard proof in the worst way possible.

You and your friend have been an incredible boon to this thread. Thank you. I wonder if prison will finally be the thing that humbles him or if he'll just keep running his mouth and have a "stephen forgets he isn't on the internet" moment with an inmate.

Imagine being so insufferable you threaten to shoot up a courthouse after being told to empty your pockets for metal detector. He'd make a great sovcit.
I'm actually surprised they didn't just immediately taze him, tackle him, and kick the shit out of him, or even just shoot him.

They probably know he's a retard already. He still seriously injured the sheriff.

People talk about police brutality but when they do, I look at an asshole like this and think maybe there should be more.

What makes this even worse is that there's have been two recent incidents in which people brought guns to the Lewis and Clark county courthouse with the stated intent of killing a judge. At least one of them got shot fatally. I think they're entitled to be nervous when someone like Skylar does something like this.

The only reason something didn't happen with this particular tard is they're probably very familiar with him. Any rando doing this would have been at serious risk of injury or death. I'd agree he's definitely at near 100% chance of copping new charges, though.

This fresh faced little boy, when this thread started, who could have imagined it would have gone so far South?
skylar.webp
Now, he's sending cops to the hospital. He is Antifa. He's showing up at courthouses telling them damn judges he's just going to show up with a gun and show them who's boss!

This shit don't mean nothing to him!

He just makes friends everywhere he goes, he'll be fine in big-boy jail with niggers and woods and guards, they'll love his attitude. I'm sure everyone will find it hilarious when he makes one of these little jokes and the guards have a lockdown. I hope he tells them about his crypto fortune, everyone will be real impressed.

Here you go (thank @Marvin). I listened just enough to confirm that the attachments still work.
When the thread was revived a couple weeks back about his trial coming up, I took a few minutes to search his name again.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that his website KCC (https://keepcarrollcatholic.org) is still active. And better yet, all 3 audio files are all still there, they can all be accessed through the timeline (https://keepcarrollcatholic.org/timeline/). The only thing that is gone is the YT video which is privated. If someone knows how to save or access a private video that'd be useful.

Additionally, all the emails (161) are still there as well. I was just tooling around now to see if I could do a mass download of the emails and the 3 audio files to save them in thread but couldn't find an extension that would do the job easily. I have to run so can't spend more time at moment trying to grab all the stuff. If someone else wants to try and get them and add them to the thread, or give any recommendations on how to get the emails (the audio files are easy enough to grab), I'll do it later. The stuff may already all be archived in thread, I don't remember.
I wonder if prison will finally be the thing that humbles him or if he'll just keep running his mouth and have a "stephen forgets he isn't on the internet" moment with an inmate.
Nothing will humble him. He is a mama's boy babied tard with a severe case of NPD and mightier than thou attitude. If anything, from the time we first discovered him until now, he has gotten objectively worse. I never would have guessed this little manchild would have the ability and actually be able to physically assault, and seriously injure, an LEO.

Whatever his mommy did to him when he was developing, he is all kinds of fucked up now. Its obvious the father is not in the picture from all observations thus far. He either fucked off as wife was batshit and he didn't care enough about his crotch spawn to save him, or maybe mom got a little too close to Skylar and she dumped dad for son.

I agree though, if anyone could be in possible danger by being an idiot and asshole in prison, it would be Skylar. Maybe someone will Dahmer him when he gets on their last nerve.

That extra bit of info on him tarding out at the metal detector was an extra special treat. The boy doesn't have any concept of how to act around others. Hopefully he not only gets convicted of assaulting the LEO (and I hope the LEO brings a personal injury suit against Skylar too) but also gets in shit for his little tard rage for no legitimate reason. Pissing off the judge is the absolute worst thing you can do when facing one. You need to throw yourself at their mercy and beg forgiveness, not spaz out like an idiot act like you are the most important person in the world. What a fucking complete dumbass he is. Things are much worse for him now than they ever were when he was hanging his posters. How far the mighty has fallen...

Kudos again to @AprilRains and their friend for doing excellent work in following and reporting on Skylar and his trial. Keep us posted, we cannot wait until the exciting conclusion that should see Tyler hauled off to prison, not jail, but the big time penitentiary where he won't be getting his handjobs from mommy anymore. He will be in with murders, psychos, con artists and all sorts of bad people who will make him their pet, fuck with him for laughs or worse brutalize and humiliate him. Couldn't happen to a more deserving and nice guy!

I will certainly keep you posted. Incidentally, he'd be going to Deer Lodge, MT if he's convicted. That's not the worst prison in Montana - that honor goes to Kalispell - but you don't want to go there. It's really bad. Or so I'm told.

By the way, here's a photo of Skylar from the first day of the trial:

Compare that to his photo when he was booked:1000005383.webp
That's right, sports racers: He wore the same shirt to the first day of trial that he wore when he punched the sheriff. He was wearing it when they showed the video of the assault. What a great way to incriminate yourself!

Sorry for the double post, but we have footage of Skylar testifying, the sheriff testifying, and closing arguments.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a hung jury. Prosecution will appeal.

The trial for a Helena man accused of punching Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton in the face at the Last Chance Stampede and Fair ended in a hung jury on May 20.

Skylar Dexter Ittner, 28, sat through hours of testimony and exhibits during his one-and-a-half day trial where witnesses recounted the events reported July 27 at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

He was charged with felony assault on a peace officer. Those in attendance of the trial could hear Dutton shout in bodycam footage after allegedly being punched by the defendant in a scuffle that went to the ground.

After roughly four hours of jury deliberations, the verdict form read "hung" late Tuesday as Lewis and Clark County District Court Judge Kathy Seeley held it up to attorneys.

Prosecutors said Wednesday they will be refiling charges and intend to go to trial unless a plea agreement is met.

The incident reportedly took place about 4 p.m. inside the fairgrounds pavilion in front of a Lewis and Clark Republican Central Committee booth shrouded in "MAGA" paraphernalia supporting President Donald Trump.

Rebecca Stockton, who worked at the booth, testified that workers at the booth would typically not engage in conversations with people, but rather listen.

She said she learned of the incident when she returned to the booth and saw Ittner speaking with one of the attendants.

"Our policy is if someone comes and approaches the booth and wants to talk about issues, we don't engage with the opposite issues. We just let them talk," Stockton said.

She was walking around the fair with her daughter when she returned to the booth and learned Ittner was being "disruptive." He was asked to leave multiple times, she said, but he refused.

"He kept telling us that President Trump had made a statement at an event that said 'If you vote for me, you'll never have to vote again,'" she testified.

Stockton said he raised his voice because he wanted to be heard.

"It was getting a little heated," said Stockton's husband, Tom, who was at the booth.

A video filmed by a bystander was shown, but did not explicitly show Ittner striking Dutton.

Body camera footage from Dutton was also shown to the jury, but again, did not show Ittner punching him.

The sheriff's body camera was the only available body cam footage Helena Police Department detectives could find as the other reserve deputies involved did not have their cameras activated.

During the sheriff's testimony he was pressed by defense attorney Brent Flowers about being angry during the incident, which Dutton denied numerous times.

Flowers cited hearing Dutton's conversation after the incident with Deputy Sheriff Brent Colbert.

"Do you remember making an angry statement to him about what had happened ... and do you remember you said, imitating Skylar, 'Don't touch me,' and then you said 'f--- you, you're being told to move and I'm going to touch you. I'll help you move,'" Flowers asked.

Dutton said he remembered keeping his body camera on the entire way home, but did not specifically remember saying that to Colbert.

The sheriff acknowledged if Flowers heard that in a recording then he said it.

Dutton described making initial contact with Ittner using a "chest-bump" that he said typically moved people along without hassle. That didn't work this time.

"I've done this for 35 years and helped people move and stay out of trouble. Our goal is not to make an arrest, but to keep the peace," Dutton said.

When Ittner was told to leave by Dutton he refused.

"The next time I said, 'Yeah it's time for you to go.' You move in bump them with your chest and I've never had anyone go, 'Oh I want to fight,'" he said. "But that was not the case in this one."

Dutton said he was "sucker punched" after he did not realize Ittner got his left hand free from another reserve deputy involved.

The initial report filed in Lewis and Clark County District Court states Dutton was kicked by Ittner, but none of the witness testimony could positively identify that occurred.

There was debate between attorneys if it was possible for Ittner to hit Dutton with his left hand while on his stomach.

Ultimately, the argument was inconclusive without much visual evidence of the defendant using his left hand to hit the sheriff.

Dutton said he was embarrassed by the situation because the rare incident in his career could have been different if he changed the way he approached Ittner. He said he should have noticed the signs Ittner showed, including a clenched jaw and tensed body, and arrested him.

The injuries Dutton suffered from the alleged incident resulted in laser eye surgery and a bruised face, according to the sheriff.

"Well you shouldn't have f---ing shoved me then," Ittner was heard saying on bodycam footage shown during the trial.

"(Law enforcement) was trying to keep me pinned down and I was scared that if they succeeded they would beat me up," Ittner said in his testimony.

The defendant called others outside of the booth in his testimony "hostile" after they called him a "snowflake." He felt one person in the booth gave him a feeling they were interested in what he had to say after he was offered an opportunity to write down a link to a video of Trump's statements.

"Everything happened so quickly ... in those situations everything was in slow motion and fast at the same time," Ittner said.

Ittner believed law enforcement could not tell him to leave the booth after booth workers requested he move along because he was not doing anything illegal.

When asked in cross-examination by Lewis and Clark County prosecutor Mary Barry if he could have handled the situation differently, Ittner said he felt everyone involved could have handled it differently.

Ittner was also asked about comments made in a previous report where he mentioned he would sue Dutton. When he was asked by Barry if that was still his intention, he replied, "Absolutely."

The argument about whether the arrest was legal or a violation of First Amendment (free speech) rights should not be part of the jury's discussions, Barry said.

She outlined the jury instruction supporting her statement. The prosecution's obligation to the jury was to prove that Ittner punched Dutton and did so knowingly or purposely.

Flowers argued no one was saying there was no contact, but that it was accidental. He cited the law regarding assault on a peace officer.

"There is no way in the world that Skylar Ittner purposely or intentionally punched Leo Dutton," Flowers said. "I am sorry that he got injured."

Ittner's next hearing will be Sept. 4 for a final pre-trial conference and his new trial date was set for Sept. 29 at 9 a.m.
