It's gay and stressful because it's nonstop competition. Yea people joke about models starving themselves, but that could be because modeling is a shitty way to put food on the table. It's like trying to make a career through acting, or any other type of art, because you struggle to get a gig, and once the gig is over you have to struggle to find the next. When you do get a gig it's usually along the lines of wearing someone else's else ugly ass clothes and standing under bright lights for an hour to get a small picture in a Kmart catalogue.
"SALE up to 50% off this summers HOTTEST swimwear!" with a picture of you in swim trunks and goggles, holding a soccer ball for some reason.
That's what it is to be a model.
These guys are talking about being a runway model which can only happen after you've dealt with all the above shit, and have top tier genetics, with a body to match. You have a window of five to seven years before you're completely useless to the agencies, so don't get too comfortable. If you're lucky enough to get signed to an agency working with high fashion (yea right), you may get to travel frequently and meet interesting/famous people, but again, once the gig is over, you better have something else to fall back on. You'll be spending time working with the most superficial people on earth too, and failing to adjust/fit in could be a death sentence. f you have the right personality you can have a lot of fun with it, but it still won't be a good career.
As far as getting girls, yea, if you have model looks it really isn't that difficult to get laid, even with the shittiest of personalities. The guys who can't simply don't try. They lack the balls to "approach" (AKA have a conversation) and absolutely refuse to think about "game"as anything more than a shitty, evil "PUA tactic."
They couldn't be a model with that mindframe, anyway.
