i have never seen an actual human person say anything about birdgirl. from what i can tell, it's a spinoff of a classic [as] show, but without anything people liked about the original. why is it pushed so hard?
I actually did manage to find some people who were willing to express an opinion about "Birdgirl"

The prevailing opinion seems to be that is isn't/wasn't a very good show... Please pardon me while I laugh.

My favorite episode is Frowning Friends, not only is it really clever but I love how it made nihilists absolutely shit themselves across the internet. Seems like everywhere I see the show discussed, the screencap of Boss holding a gun at Grim follows. I swear nihilists should be on Community Watch based on how passionately angry they get at that episode.

I really enjoyed it and I'm happy to see Zach make it into the big leagues.

Personal favorite for me would probably be either the pilot or Shrimp Quest. But they were all great.

I really do enjoy it, all the characters are weird and memorable and the humour is zany butcher paced and genuinely hilarious at times, one thing I like is that despite the expected adult content none of the characters feel ‘edgy’ or malicious in any way. They are generally all likeable people who aren’t sociopaths to one another (looking at you FG and R &.M!) they seem like actual friends and I couldn’t be grateful enough. It seems that characterisation in adult animation is almost non-existent.

Also: This memes in TF2 now, Jesus:

I mean, if you really want to see for yourself how bad it is…
I tried watching this pile of crap when it came out because I fucking loved Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law. Despite knowing it would turn out to be exactly what it was, I had some small hope it would actually respect and try to continue its prequal series. Couldn't make it past episode 2 because it was so fucking boring and "woke".

It pretty much removed the entire main cast except bird girl, and I don't know or care if they showed up later on, and then thoroughly raped her character into a pile of inoffensive gray PC goo.

My favorite episode is still the pilot. My 2nd favorite is Mr. Frog and I think my 3rd is Frowning Friends. I really warmed up to Frowning Friends especially in retrospect that it pisses off Rick and Morty fuckheads.

The Who Killed Simon S. Salty episode isn't that funny but it's great if you know who Perry is: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/perry-caravello-big-3-community-tom-brennan-aka-tom-b.9159/
Seeing Perry in that episode was one of the hardest times I've laughed in years.

For the record, I typically hate adult comedy cartoons, especially screechy internet humor. I had pretty little tolerance for New grounds/oneyplays humor and all that jazz.

And I fucking love this show??? Somehow, the humor is on point every time. I don't know what it is but I laughed like a loon several times. What a positive way to subvert expectations.
