Squim is no doubt a Spongebob parody. Overwhelmingly positive and friendly but slowly becoming a zombie/caricature of himself. The cops killed him before he went full [current year] Spongebob/The Simpsons/Family Guy.

I gotta be real, gents. I didn't think people were being serious when they said trannies on Bluesky thought the fat ugly sailor moon guy was transphobic but here I am now with the knowledge that is true. Gotta be honest, self reporting as a fat ugly piece of shit that tries to sexually assault a cosplayer is nasty work.

Also, I do see a lot of discussion of that Simpsons parody and all I can really say is; I have no doubt it was in good fun but man, the SMiling Friends parody of the Simpsons was far more cutting and to the point than the Simpsons Smiling Friends parody. The Simpsons one kinda felt like a gross misread of SF tbh. Whereas the SF parody of The Simpsons is incredibly layered, clearly done by people who love classic Simpsons and despise what its become nowadays.

It was painfully unfunny, like an out of touch boomer trying to "relate to the kids".

And just like boomers, Simpsons should of been dead a decade ago. It would be nice if the orderlies would do the needful and fucking smother it with a pillow already.


Edit: Come to think of it, Smiling Friends kind of already did the joke themselves. I think its at the end of the Homunculus episode in S1, where Charlie remarks about his existential feelings about the horrors of living in their world.

I think the best part about The Simpsons bit was that the whole thing was over and done in 10 seconds and layered so much into it. Ironically, it's the sort of layered joke you'd see in early seasons of The Simpsons, just a little more cutting.

I'll also say the funniest part of Season 3 so far is the idea that Mr Frog could literally sit down for 2 seconds and achieve transcendence.

Also it's incredibly hard to rank episodes because at 10 minutes runtime it takes an incredible amount of effort to create a complete dud. Even the episode where literally nothing happens (Brazil) it still ends up being the best portrayal of a group trip that goes south. It's why I'm really against the idea that episodes should be longer, the whole point of 10 minutes is it forces the writers to cram as much as possible into 10 minutes with as little filler as possible and ensures that NO EPISODE OUTSTAYS ITS WELCOME. These are the people who grew up/created flash animations that went all over the place in like 3 minutes like Burnt Face Man or Salad Fingers, they know that if the episodes were 20 minutes long then it'd turn off half the fucking audience just like that.

Like the major appeal of Smiling Friends is that you watch an episode, go "Oh man, that went by TOO fast" and watch another one.

Which reminds me. Neil Cicierega needs a cameo. For anyone who doesn't recognise the name, he's the guy who did a bunch of comedy mashups and had the band Lemon Demon which birthed the Newgrounds Classic 'The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny'.

I had thought Lemon Demon was the creator of The Ultimate Orgy of Homosexuality for years and thought Lemon Demon was a band of fags until I learned 3 things:
1: Ultimate Orgy was a parody of Ultimate Showdown made by Patrick Smythe.
2: Neil Cicierega also made Potter Puppet Pals which was big shit when I was a kid.
Don't know how I went so long on the internet without figuring those things sooner.
3: Neil Cicierega is a fag anyway.
