Michael Cusack and Zach have confirmed that Season 3 was the last season of Smiling Friends, but they don't deny that there will be more special episodes in the future.

This is the premature end of an amazing era of Adult Swim, but my god, they ended in a pretty high note.

Honestly, the Glep Episode being the last episode of the show kinda works out in the end.

I'm glad that they've cut it when they wanted to and leave it open. The brightest flame burns half as bright.

Their logic is pretty sound in why they want to stop it for now, if not forever. I do hope we get a musical special or a movie eventually. I will miss this wacky little animation though.

Rare instance of adult swim not shitcanning a show or interfering bad enough to run the creators away I guess.

Also where's the goddamn blu rays there's still zilch for season 2 and 3

Both sad and glad to hear it, better to go out on a high note than turn into a zombie show.

2 extra episodes is a nice goodbye at least.
 
Where's the fucking follow up to Allan's landlord?
I'm just gonna tell myself they're going to come back with season 4 on April fools.
And I'll keep doing that every year like I do with Jontron during Halloween time.

They poured a shit ton of work and heart into those three season. A trilogy in its own league compared to the Starwars Prequels. There are two episodes part of Season 3 that they have in the back pocket. They aren't finales or anything just dangling participles. Doesn't Michael have a show going as well? I've heard it's pretty good.

Honestly, the biggest thing for me is this show managed to achieve in showing that pouring soul, hard work, and good natured human beings behind a show is a winning combination. They brought positivity back to American television something that's been woefully lacking the past couple of decades. I hope whatever zoomer or alpha that sees this show, well, I hope it acts like Newgrounds did back in the day. Inspiring folks to create something new and not just the message, whatever that message is.

It makes sense. Adult Swim has nothing of value these days so whenever something halfway decent comes out autistic cartoon fans attach themselves like a leech and make everything worse.
