Warner saw that smiling friends was over and quit the deal.

@The Projects yeah no. You’re just simping. It’s one thing if you’re making 30 minute episodes. But with a total run time of what 200 minutes? After 6 years? Creating art is hard work and they can’t cut it they didn't deserve to break out of the internet in the first place. I’m sure if they went to AS and said hey let’s skip a year. Slow the pace. It would have worked out. now there’s a bunch of amazing characters they don’t own the rights to that a corporation will sit on and do nothing with. I love the smiling friends but quitting is just wasted potential. The fate of it is to fade into obscurity.

The Venture Bros. had years between single seasons. Quit your bitching.

Lol, nice joke Zach and Mick, nice one, this will lead into a teaser for S4, right?

RIGHT?!

Look, jokes aside, it annoys me a lot that this show is over the moment I became a fan last year after binge watching it (something I havent done in years, no show "engaged me" like Smiling Friends did in recent years). But on the other side, I actually applaud them for knowing when to end when they dont feel like continuing.

People need to understand that Zach and Micheal (and crew) were doing all the work in exchange for total creative control and that will obviously lead to burnout even with a series that Im sure they have a good time working on. Never mind that they openly mocked The Simpsons for going as long as they did so that already sets the precedent that they dislike the idea of a show going on for far too long. So they are deciding to quit in their own terms and in a high note instead of seeing themselves become Rick and Morty or Family Guy.

I did personally think that S4 and 5 would be the final ones and that would be a good number to end on but if they can only have enough juice for two more episodes, so be it, tho they really should at least make them feel "conclusive" maybe instead of letting the series just randomly end. Im not sure how you can "end" Smiling Friends since the show barely has an over arching story to conclude but it should at least be something that leaves fans with this sense of closure.

I cant put into words how many times an engaging show just "ends" with no fanfare, for various reasons, so if the duo will end things, they should at least conclude it properly and Im sure they would agree with me.

The premise of the entire show is "random spastic bullshit" so they definitely weren't lacking in ideas for content so I have to wonder why they would quit now when they could easily make a few specials and make some extra cash for another project.
That's the thing, "random spastic bullshit" is an idea, and even if do different "random spastic bullshit", it is still seen as "random spastic bullshit".

I think that is the big reson on wht they are stopping, you can pitch a myriad of absurd scenarios for Charlie and Pim, but due to the show's own premise, you can always bog it down to "random spastic bullshit", they are not gonna have the pathos or gravitas to the show, the only engagement is is musing the absurd.

Turns out that senseless dadaism is a very constricting art form, rather ironic.

On the same note that randomness can easily lead to any given scenario you want which is literally endless content and countless pop culture references for the viewer to enjoy. It's really not constricting if you're not a brainless algorithm chasing corporate whore with no originality or passion. If anything it's one of the best canvases for the creative cartoonist.

I think Zack either got an offer for something or he got an idea for another show and he wants to pursue that now, he always used to say he wanted to just put out a show he never said anything about keeping it around. I still think he should have made a couple holiday specials or even a movie though.

I'm sad it's ending, but I respect Zach and Michael's reasons for ending it. Honestly, I wouldn't like a Zombie Smiling Friends. We have enough zombie series already.
