Major Sneedchat hiccups for everyone right now in the past two hours.

If a member has a long name in the user list, it gets cut down with an ellipsis. You can still get the full name if you highlight it with the ellipsis and copy it somewhere, but that's a hassle.
It'd be real neat-o if you could hover over an abbreviated name and see it in full.

Sometimes people have funny names and inquiring minds may wish to know them in full.

An option to disable automatically joining the chat would be nice, or even better if the privacy option to display as offline would hide you from the chat until you wrote or something. Right now you can easily connect a bot to the websocket and map out exactly when people are online, go to bed etc.

The report function does not seem to work properly as it opens the site inside the iframe instead of _parent. I would assume the actual reporting still works properly though.

Another nice feature would be to easily be able to open embedded images in a new tab by making it a link. Speaking of links, it would be nice to be able to turn off automatically displaying off-site image links.

Perhaps the chat could be made to not load all avatars as soon as they join the chat and instead defer it until the avatar is visible either by scrolling in the userlist or by them posting a message in the chat. It fetches quite a lot of images very fast.

I am using Firefox if that is related to the issue with links and/or iframe.

Dunno if I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to open General Chat with a message stating "You cannot join this room. Try refreshing. If you still have issues, post in the Sneedchat Discussion thread." Is there a score/time requirement for the room?

Duplicate message sanitization and/or minimum time between messages should probably be implemented again.

Since KF came back online, sneedchat has had a memory leak issue or something. After an hour of just a youtube tab and a sneedchat tab open, it can climb into 10gb RAM usage. I'm using firefox, a chatter using chromium reported no such issue.

Same here (firefox + chat unopened). You need to block the chat script in UBlock Origin or any other script blocker and it will stop (or switch to a different browser if you want to use the chat). It was using 28gb of my 32gb RAM at one point.

The day the forum switched over to sneedchat my account lost access to the chat tab, and my account details are no longer editable. This is what I see when I'm logged in. Currently using Chrome, but the same thing happens in firefox, brave, safari, on mobile etc. Deleted cookies and all that fun stuff too. For some reason I can only connect to chat when I'm on TOR

Try it on Tor and it works fine and I can chat.

On newest version of Brave, Win 10, have Ublock Origin running and I'm a VPN but I've tried disabling things to see if that works and it doesn't seem to.

Still seems to be giving me the same trouble as @Ebonic Tutor is getting. Trying TOR right now but I'm not sure if I'll have to reinstall it or something, it just loads forever.
Edit: Tor seemed to be huffing paint, and loaded after like 10 minutes. Chat works on TOR for whatever reason

Try clearing out your cookies for the site... got it working with that

I get this for general chat, Célébrité de l'Internet, DarkSydePhil and Kennel Club. Autism Thunderdome and Beauty Parlor work fine.
