Thank you for this info, I downloaded Brave and was able to get the four episodes I needed.

I'm actually enjoying the remake so far, I like that about every 7 minutes for most of the episodes is one chapter of the manga with the commercial break being the cliffhanger from the last one.

I don't have Netflix but honestly just from what's been posted officially... even without the potential politicization, the vibe I'm getting is "generic modern anime that just happens to have a recognizable name attached."

We know the first 12 episodes adapt the first 4 volumes. I just hope they do the arc where Ranma poses as Ryoga's sister because Ranma fucking with Ryoga is always fun.

Seeing that the Bastard!! anime doesn't have nipples/goes out of its way to do discretion props, I'm now questioning on how far with the nudity they're going to go with this. Ranma ½ always had low-detailed pepperoni nipples, so it'd be weird to go Barbie anatomy.

I haven't watch the new Urusei Yatsura yet so I don't know what they did to him.

Edit: just check to what they did to Nagisa, and who the new VA will be for him, Nagisa is fucked. No ifs, ands, or buts about it and only question is how far will they go in doing so.

I'm not familiar with UY but did they seriously rewrite a character to be trans?

No clue but they got a male VA who's going to be voicing Nagisa. So they're going from feminine to maybe androgynous. Original UY Nagisa was voice by a woman VA.

No they didn't and whatever dub they conjure can't change (hopefully) the basics of the scenes. It's fairly funny when at a certain point everyone stops and both Ataru and Mendo realize they did not go for their usual lecherous routine with a new girl.... because by instinct they knew Nagisa was a man, unconsciously.

Always wondered why Americans liked more Ranma compared to Urusei Yatsura. Must be a Lupin III situation, where the characters resonate more for an European/Latin American audience.

One of the funniest parts of Ranma was the fact that the characters had perfectly legitimate reasons for hating each other, and those reasons, including Akane's reason for hating men, were shown on screen in the most over the top and blatant way possible so you could not really question its legitimacy. You just go "yeah okay, I'd be pissed too."
