I dunno. I think that this might actually be the thing that breaks him. Throughout everything, his high school life was this one great shining and untouchable symbol of purity for him that only got bigger and shinier as he began to become more and more unfamiliar with how things actually were. That's pretty standard for most, but at the same time Chris went above and beyond with how much he idealized his memories. Him getting his dreams crushed in one form or another was actually pretty inevitable, although odds are that it would've been a little more easy on him if it happened earlier in his life. If this had happened after say, the Megan saga, odds are that his former HS companions would do some half-hearted attempt to defend him if pressed, which might have had better long term repercussions. I can see maybe, maybe one of the former galpals having a slight 1% chance of convincing Bob that Chris should have some sort of sustained mental therapy for everything that has been happening online. I don't think Bob really realized how bad everything was until it was too late and they were all already pretty inured to everything, like a frog in a slowly boiling pot.
In any case, if anything was going to make Chris make a suicide attempt of any sort, this would be it. He's in the "perfect" spot for it: he has zero friends (at least none he can trust), no money, a house full of garbage that's unlikely to last for much longer, a portion of the online community that focuses on him is actively seeking ways to make him fail further, and on top of it all, the one thing he's viewed as sacred and untouchable is a lie. That's got to be making him think about what else in his life is unsafe and/or a lie. Plus he no longer has anything left to look forward to: he probably had this idea that any reunion would be filled with all the glory he imagined existed in his teen days, and that he'd hook up with one of his galpals from high school because hey- he's a sensitive TomGirl that needs to have his wounds (and other things) licked.
I think Compy said in the main mini-chat that Chris is in the hospital. She didn't say what for, but I can see Chris making some sort of statement and someone calling him on it by pushing him to go to the hospital. It'd be lovely if he had a nice little mental breakdown while he was there, since he'd actually have some access to proper mental health care as opposed to Barb pouring more brainwash into his ears.
