I have no idea what the fuck happened or why he kept on vacillating with this shit. As much as I think ZDR has no business being an admin, in this case I’m willing to give him the benefit of a doubt simply because Lowtax is all but impossible to work with in any professional capacity. For example I remember SA’s ad guy being genuinely baffled whenever he had to talk to Lowtax. He had no idea what the fuck Lowtax was saying that was sincere, sarcastic, or an attempt at being zany, and thus any meaningful communication with the guy paying your checks was pretty much impossible.

I remember that being really eye opening for me, being fed up with Lowtax's terrible sense of humor, how he couldn't get through more than one paragraph without saying something ~wAcKy~, only to find out that he just can't turn that off. Like Lowtax can not be anything but a sad clown who can't stop telling terrible jokes.

It’s kind of telling that FactsAreUseless fucked off after being so defensive about the shooter being involved with SA and the recent child abuse thing in E/N. It seems less like FAU is tired of being an admin given he’s still backseat modding in threads, and more that he’s just scared he might get into actual, legal trouble at this rate.

As a general rule any thread Lowtax makes or posts in is gonna be a lot more like older SA to a degree. They cracked down on any GG talk real quick after that from what I remember.

I do remember the Shmorky thread was actually fun cause FAU shut it down only to have Lowtax open it back up and say "who the fuck closed/gassed my thread?" pretty much and just lay back into Shmorky.

That was the thread that brought me to KF. BBG had a massive tantrum because the thread was full of wrongthink, then started spamming Longcat over and over until the thread wouldn't load any more on most browsers. He ate a perma but then mysteriously got un-perma'd by ZDR, who also threw a forums-breaking tantrum by deleting his own posts in such a cack-handed way that the postcounts for the threads didn't change and therefore didn't match the actual posts, rendering any thread he had posted in unloadable because SA has the worst codebase on the internet. He later claimed it was an accident. Yuh-huh.

Honestly, I now look back on Zen Death Robot's legacy with fondness. He was able to break more of the forums than he fixed, and then stole $4000 from Lowtax.

The public ZDR tantrum was when shmorkys ex mandy went full 1488 SS nazi and he made a thread mocking her teeth and ZDR said he would leave and did the delet his posts where then lowtax said it was because of a power outadge at the data center.

We had mods like Lightning Knight defending ZDR’s reputation on discord, and even Kyanka tried to claim it was all a big misunderstanding. I’m more willing to believe that Lowtax drove out the only dude willing to put up with his shit for free. Though given goons’s tendency to burn bridges and rip each other off once more than a grand or two of money is involved, it’s entirely possible Lowtax is right. It’s just hard to buy it when he’d already walked back on these claims once already.

From what I've gathered, ZDR vanished into the ether. After Lowtax called him out, ZDR reached out to Lowtax, offered some explaination for dropping off and not returning Lowtax's calls that Lowtax bought. Fast forward a few months, and I guess ZDR has blocked Lowtax and isn't giving the SA architecture diagram so Lowtax can "hire" another SysAdmin to unfuck things.

He got $4,000 from Lowtax and $12,000 from goons, so not a bad severence package. Just wish he'd have destroyed the forums again.

A power outage that just so happened to look an awful lot like the effects of a straight SQL delete on the posts table, which wouldn't adjust thread reply counts, which would cause the exact glitches that occurred wherever ZDR happened to have posted.

I know it’s been a frequent item of discussions here about goons being eager and willing marks but these people fall for every obvious two bit scam, it’s hard to blame anyone for trying to rip goons off.

While Lowtax is a lazy sack of shit, I suspect there’s some feature FYAD likes that is not possible through XF2 so therefore they will stick to their current format until it gets irreparably broken.

Not really.
