This, 100%.Probably clicking on "simillar threads" at the bottom without checking the date. I've caught myself doing that a few times.
Turning that "feature:" off would solve most instances of this problem overnight.

The main problem is newfags generally adding nothing to the conversation. Just saying 'good' or some dumb joke rather than an actual update.I never understood why this was such a big deal. I mean, a fourm is meant to be a long term discussion platform, and complaining that people have something to say about something that nobody has said anything about for a while on a platform designed to allow that just seems pretty dumb. Sometimes its even a good thing in some cases. Having threads be automatically locked after a certain time would be pretty dumb as old people, things, and situations can always be looked back on with a new point of view or come back in some form, allowing for new discussion to be had.
But i guess in something like this its slightly more understandable than theowing a mega tantrum because somebody in the steam game discussions responded to a thread 3 months later because the fix for an old issue didnt fix that issue for them and they didnt want to make a new thread only to have the thread just be the exact same unworking fixes from the old one. Validating the files didnt work the last 7 times, i dont think doing it an 8th time is going to bring the skybox back.
reddit actually changed it's functionality recently to allow replies \ ratings after that point, if the subreddit mods wish.Does necroing hurt everyone that fucking much, unless it's a useless post on some thread about a cow that hasn't been active since 2014? Let alone fucking A&H?
Go to reddit where you can't reply or even upboat posts older than 6 months if necroposting wedgies your panties so much.
Or I search to check for a thread on a certain topic & forget to check the date.Probably clicking on "simillar threads" at the bottom without checking the date. I've caught myself doing that a few times.
Too many people will want to, this is now Desert Bus 3.0 threadI actually like necroposts in A&H (sometimes). It's usually interesting stuff that gets necroed.
Also I am looking forward to necroing this thread some time next year.
I don't mind necroposting if it's content that actually adds something to the thread. Some places auto-lock threads after a certain amount of time, but that'd be no bueno in a place where lolcows sometimes lie dormant for months or years before tard-raging back to life. The main problem is newfags generally adding nothing to the conversation.
