I just noticed that they changed Knuckle's eye color. What purpose is that?

They used Bangarang in the game's trailer. This is beyond pathetic.Batman said:A-Stump said:How can anyone still give a shit about Sonic? I know the first two games were OK but come on :? The series is pathetic
Nobody does. This is a clear, pathetic, attempt at trying to stay relevant.
Thankfully they won't use it in the game (there is a Godspaps said:They used Bangarang in the game's trailer. This is beyond pathetic.
Sega would financially screw themselves if they just let Sonic go. Sonic is like Sega's life preserver at this point. They have to keep milking it to survive, and their parent financial company that bailed them out post-Dreamcast days isn't really willing to let them take risks.caffeinated_wench said:It's time, Sega.

So in other words, Sega is essentially on its last leg or getting there.Cuddlebug said:Sega would financially screw themselves if they just let Sonic go. Essentially the day Sega says "no more Sonic games" is the day Sega files for chapter 11.

Mario still makes quite a bit of money for Nintendo though apparently (that probably is changing now considering the flop the Wii U is becoming and Nintendo's marketing strategy of SHOVELWARE EVERYTHING), I don't think Sonic has turned too much of a profit for SEGA since 2004 with the final Sonic Advanced game.
If I remember right, SEGA has always hated having to rely on the Sonic series so much and the fact he is their mascot. There was a point in the mid 90's when they tried to replace him as the SEGA mascot with another game (that bombed). Then they finally ditched Sonic as mascot in 2013 because (supposedly their reason) the perception had been ruined by fans and was now more of an icon of furries and was no longer associated with kid-friendly games.
SEGA's relationship with Sonic reminds me of Capcom's relationship with the Megaman series.
Yeah, you're basing that off a joke article from a fake news site. I remember it because it got Chris all riled up.

Batman said:Rare own Banjo-Kazooie. Rare is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft are like EA and Activision but on a smaller scale, so as you can imagine you won't be seeing any new Banjo-Kazooie games from them any time soon.

Nintendo has tried to make new IP in the past, but each time it happens it either doesn't do very well or people claim they're not making a new Zelda/Mario game because of it. Indeed the majority of the time Nintendo does make something derivative like a new Mario/Zelda/Pokemon game, it sells millions of copies. So clearly from a business standpoint they're doing something right.A-Stump said:Nintendo is stuck in like, the early nineties. They're not a good company anymore, they know it, everyone knows it. The DS is fine, I enjoyed mine a lot but they don't bother realizing they need to put some big money behind a new franchise and run with it. Throw Mario, Zelda games, Metroid, Kirby, and other shit that we've played for years on the backburner and do something new. They have such a goddamn boner over supposed innovation and yet their cycle of games is like the industry version of Groundhog Day. Hell, they could maybe make a Starfox game about shooting down ships and shit like Starfox 64 but no, they'd fuck that up and like they do with everything. How about Banjo Kazooie? Do they not own the rights to the franchise or are they too moronic to not use it?
Nintendo has been sniffing glue
