Ian Flynn's best work is entertaining in the same way Penders' is; it's complete and utter insanity.
In late archie and IDW his stories got boring. Flynn was never a pulitzer winner, but he brought the crack. The cut story ideas from before the reboot were Penders tier gold and it's a disgrace none of it was published.
If you doubt this, Flynn wanted to permakill Antonie before he was forced to back down. If that's not a sign of the second coming of Penders I don't know what is.
Flynn is in his Green Knuckles phase where he writes walls of overly verbose text that ultimately mean little. I don't have much faith in his understudies either -- their writing has no spark to it. They write the schlock equivalent of oscar-baits. Forgettable, pseudointellectual, and worst of all, boring.
