Sony hate thread

I'm just saying it doesn't really suit his style well to go with the quasi realism. You start to see cracks form with stuff and it breaks the suspension of disbelief. I know they chose to go that route but I'm saying in my opinion it just doesn't look right especially since there are other games that have used his style before.

Renderers are going to depict realistic light and shadows differently than going for cel shaded look.

Guilty gear used an array of texture techniques and shaders to pull off the 2d look on the same engine
Rev 2 uses highly modified build of UE3, what crack are you smoking?

That wasn't the only cinematic scene in the whole game. As you progressed they did pop up from time to time.

Personally I did feel that they gave you a disconnect between those scenes and the in engine ones. A few games made me feel this way like Front Mission 3 and Starcraft where what's happening on screen during those scenes just didn't feel as well conceived as some of the regular conversations and events that were not highlighted by scenes like that.

Final Fantasy 10 also suffered like this to an extent where Rikku had different physical features depending on the shot. it felt more distracting than anything.
Don't care, not taking the bait. Go back and read what you wrote. Ultra-smooth animation was jarring and the fault of the renderer according to you. Please admit that there are gaps in your knowledge.

But you're referencing Rev 2 with the video, why not use Strive gameplay?
Weren't many of the assets re-used for strive?

I did but I didn't mean it to come across that way.

You would earn a lot of good will among the regulars here if you said "aah, I fucked up I didn't really understand that thing" or "oops I was mistaken". That's perfectly fine, really, this is a very friendly gaming forum.
Saying "oh I was right but I worded it wrong" while it still reads the same will do you no favors.

No? UE3, 4 & 5 are built up from the ground to be entirely different take advantage of hardware of their time. They technically can, like the character models. But then they would have to be adjusted for the new engine features. On top of it, a lot of the same characters have different move sets, which in turn would require re-learning how to rig a model in UE4 as they have different approaches to rigging a model in the game. On top of that, better details in the characters, new stages, and the dlc of returning characters indicate that they aren't really using the same assets.

Yeah typically animation flaws are the fault of the devs not learning the engine proper, not the renderer itself. Because the renderer isn't even the engine, it's the api(vulkan, DX11/12, OGL) that renders it.

BUT THAT'S THE TRUTH!!!!!

Fine I fucked up I shall take extra care in the future to not make assumptions in my explanations so it doesn't lead to confusion.

I mean to me it seemed pretty obvious like it doesn't need to be said that car can't fly.
No the problem is you have set your own reputation as someone who is a contrarian/shill so its not pretty obvious when it comes to you because of the statements you have made here. And honestly its never going to change because the moment I think you cannot sink any lower you go and state something even dumber than your previous bad takes.

Ok fine you've convinced me I'm sorry, I'll turn over a new leaf.

I mean it was getting old almost as old as the women as @The Last Stand would post.

The person who said localization changes are happening clarified that it's just going to be changing the text to correspond to Xbox and keyboard layouts. Achievement support and such is necessary for any old game being ported to newer systems.
I agree but it turns out the localization coordinator for the re-releases of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden is a well-known leftist activist on Twitter who has previously bragged about their inaccurate translations and moaned about Young Jump being "gross and sexist" just to list a couple of things. That's not to say we know for definite they're going to butcher these re-releases, but given how Catherine: Full Body and Persona 5 Royal had "offensive" dialogue changed when they came out, there is cause for concern. We'll have to keep an eye on it.

Okay, I'm going back to my original comment. The beach scene in 3 is gonna get some heavy rewrites.

The Switch version of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles was the highest selling new release last week, opening at 90,885 retail copies sold, which is particularly strong performance for a late port. It originally launched back in October 2021 to 94,849 units sold on PlayStation 4 and 20,187 units sold on PlayStation 5.

That's a very impressive feat for a 8-months late port of a Playstation game, released way past the second anime season that aired in Japan (from October 10th 2021 to February 13th 2022).
