Sony hate thread

Spider-Man, Persona, TLOU2 (depending on who you are), Uncharted 4, Death Stranding, God of War, Journey (this one is short) and Shadow of the Colossus.
Spider man, cape shit who cares.
Persona weeb trash for nerds who didnt have a social life in highschool. Very bland Jrpg
Tlou2, lol only the most soy journalists could find that fun.
Uncharted 4, is the most generic "Film but not really" game imaginable, a very boring game.
Death Stranding, packet delivery simulator really dude? also on pc
Journeys 10 years old and on pc.
Shadow is fucking 16 years old and a ps2 game.

The games industry is worse then the movie industry at this point all nostalgic crap or capeshit.
There's a lot to hate Sony for. Game selection is subjective.
Game selection across the board for ps4, Xbox one and the new ones have been horrible.
The only redeemable one is nintendo and even they keep shitting out rerelaseses.

I was a huge Soyny fagboy up until I switched to PC full time in 2013. I used to have autistic forum slapfights during the PS3 vs 360 days. When I took the pony specs off it started to dawn on me just how shit and overhyped some of the exclusives were/were starting to become. Infamous: Second Son meh, Bloodborne sure if you're big into Souls games, Days Gone whatever, Spider-Man alright I guess, Soyny 3rd Person Formula of War wasn't for me, it was a complete deviation from what GoW is, heard Uncharted 4 was just some women beating up dudes, and Last of Us... well... you either like it or you don't, and it isn't for everyone. And I'm sure there was some weeb shit in there that only fucking weebs gave two shits about.

They lost their way big time. They were untouchable for a while there back in the PS2 era, and around the end of 7th gen and obviously that extended far into the PS4 lifecycle, but that didn't speak to the quality, it just spoke to who had all of the momentum and hype after having a strong end to the 7th gen cycle. At this point if you're still propping them up like they're the Gold Standard for console gaming well then you're just stuck in 2012. And sales numbers don't mean shit, it's just a popularity contest at this point. Allot of pretty girls were popular in high school, but they still had the personality of a paper plate.

My launch PS4 is so glitchy.

-Sometimes doesnt turn on at all
-Sounds like an airplane every few boots
-Turns itself on randomly
-Ejects discs randomly

I really like the Dualshock controllers but the batteries are total ass in them
I got mine a year after launch and it also suffers from the random disc ejection and turning on randomly. My launch controller probably only holds a charge for 90 minutes nowadays and the second controller I bought a year or two later suffers from drifting on the left stick. Disappointing quality to say the least.

Also, whomever designed to have the ventilation the way it is deserves to be hung, drawn, and quartered. It's such a pain in the ass to clean and looks like it was designed specifically to collect dust.

I've had 2 controllers break on me in the span of a year and I got my PS4 in mid 2019. I treat my electronics like delicate China somehow the shitty cheap dualshock controllers still break on me. The second one was broken when I came back from the opposite side of the country after working perfectly fine the day before I left.

I ruined my DualShock 4 because I plugged it in to the wall.

I kinda like Death Stranding for how unique it is. Needed a bit more time in the oven to reach greatness though.
What are you talking about? Death Stranding was really fucking polished. I personally liked it but the reason some people found it shit is because it has flawed gameplay and a story that's impossible to follow and easy to forget. I like Death Stranding, sometimes when I get home feeling exhausted and want to relax but there aren't any drinks I just turn on music and play Death Stranding. It's absolutely not a well designed game but I personally found it fun. I can't blame people for finding it dogshit.

This ought to be a fruitful thread. I've had every Playstation console (even a fucking Vita). They've gone downhill so fucking bad over the PS4 generation it's baffling, I think part of it is due to A: Their fanbase is willing to suck up any shit they squirt out and B: Journos suck them off constantly and don't even report when they do scummy shit like when they straight up paid a dev to not deliver on their kickstarter for other platforms. They no doubt know this shit doesn't get reported on and as such continue to not fix any of their problems. The main problem being that their big budget games have been relegated to either being a "cinematic experience" like God Of War or TLOU, or a slightly more polished Ubisoft game like Horizon, Days Gone, Ghost Of Tsushima. Also fuck Shuhei Yoshida for pretending Demon's Souls was important to him when he basically sent it out to die.

I meant more polish in terms of gameplay loop and actual long term "fun". The combat and boss fights were pretty much a joke. Game got way too repetitive. Overall still a good experience though.

PS1/PS2 Sony was god tier, after that they started slipping. The PS3 was largely a mistake. Remember how the 360 launched a year earlier with trophies and all kinds of shit that people liked, like if you were online and invited to a game and accepted it would plop out the disc tray to make it easier to swap discs? Whoops!

I'm ok with my PS4 games. Nier Automata top pick, dragon's crown pro, atelier ryza, Ys celceta, trials of mana, MGS5, also all of the yakuza games and fighting games I could wish for. Coincidentally, the usual recommendations people push for PS4 (spider-man, the last of us, dad of war, uncharted, death stranding, etc) are all boring and dreadful.

There are some very well done counterfeits that get sold as legit on places like Amazon and walmart. Gamestop is notorious for selling bootlegs as legitimate.

I don't buy controllers online and I've wound up having to go in person for things like PS3 pads because fake PlayStation controllers getting passed off as real is more commonplace than fake GBA and DS games.. The Hori pads for PS3 are cheap, effective, well made, and are not knocked off because they have to be able to switch between the PS4 and PS3 and it's a bit of a nitche since it's originally intended as a fighter pad that nobody bothers with it.

I literally interacted with a Minidisc unit today.
I recognize how sony has become less-cool, but I loved my Trinitron CRT tv in the day, shit had square edges and could even go anamorphic, also my car discman did mp3s and was cool with jostling

Did you have a Sony Vaio?

Came with it's own windows overlay UI program, it put you in the perspective of being inside of a glass cube in a desert and that's where you would navigate and open all your programs from.

had a vaio laptop (not out of love for Sony, just the best value in a pile of laptop at hand at the time I happened to need a new one)
I don't recall that, but first item of business on any computer I've owned for the past few decades was pulling all the built-in shit

The Yellow Light of Death basically plagued all the backwards compatible PS3s from time. While not as widespread of the RRoD, it was a killing blow if you wanted to preserve your precious BC.

And I don't understand how Sony had some games that forced the SIXAXIS motion control. It was unnecessary.

Vaio was probably Peak PC Aesthetics before the Imac came out and ruined Desktop computers for everyone

Skip to the 6 minute mark if you want to see the interface, it's very very very 90's futuristic.

There was only a few that did, Lair was the major one but it was ass and was the last game the studio put out before it closed. The other two major ones are Flow and Flower.
