Sony hate thread

I'm ok with my PS4 games. Nier Automata top pick, dragon's crown pro, atelier ryza, Ys celceta, trials of mana, MGS5, also all of the yakuza games and fighting games I could wish for. Coincidentally, the usual recommendations people push for PS4 (spider-man, the last of us, dad of war, uncharted, death stranding, etc) are all boring and dreadful.
All of those games except Dragon's Crown are on PC, and Ryza and Trials of Mana are on the Nintendo Switch too.

I enjoyed the Ratchet and Clank remake. Short but really cool to see a ps2 era game done in a modern sense. Would love if they took the same initiative with Jak 2 which was basically Grand Theft Auto lol

Definitely laughing at people thinking PS5 'exclusives' will be a thing.

Did you miss that they're being investigated by the DoJ because they now own too much anime?

I don't think ever in history that this has happened where one has exceeded the legal limit of anime. I mean Jim Ryan wasn't lying, for all intents and purposes.

Thank you I was expecting this reply. Those games came out indeed on other platforms either at a later date or under tremendously ruinous conditions. Care to play Nier Automata on steam? How about the switch port of Bloodstained.

Microsoft is locking down exclusive deals from big PC games series to the tiniest thing like patches and stuff for PC, so it's now expected that many Steam copies will get the inferior treatment even on their own platform. Microsoft already got Square Enix to give them exclusive patch preferences for the PC platform. You would have to buy a copy from the Microsoft storefront to get the performance enhancements. This will be especially true in Bethesda's case. Every single major WRPG franchise outside of tabletop properties like Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons, belongs to Microsoft or Activision.

Not only that but if you're a faggot for big box physical games, consoles are giving those things out constantly but PC releases are always an afterthought.

Spider-Man, Persona, TLOU2 (depending on who you are), Uncharted 4, Death Stranding, God of War, Journey (this one is short) and Shadow of the Colossus.
TLoU 2, Uncharted 4: The Last of Drake, Dad of War, those are the perfect examples of the radical switch from making fun games to making boring third-person cinematic experiences.
As for Death Stranding... It was so great that they had to release it on PC sooner than they wanted just to get their money back.

The last great MS exclusive I recall was Sunset Overdrive.
I wish they had kept the co-op on the Steam version.

Ok maybe they fucked up on 3D tv, and Beta Max, but they still won... blu ray?
That's because they've bought most movie studios.

The Yellow Light of Death basically plagued all the backwards compatible PS3s from time. While not as widespread of the RRoD, it was a killing blow if you wanted to preserve your precious BC.

And I don't understand how Sony had some games that forced the SIXAXIS motion control. It was unnecessary.
YLOD is so annoying it is much better to get a ps3 slim with CFW and a ps2 separately. I think the only thing sony could do to win me back is release a backwards compatible ps3 that doesnt have heating issues. But that will never happen with the store going down so enjoy dealing with repair scammers who take literal years to fix your ps3

Kinda sad to see just how far Sony have fallen over the years, you look back at the PS1 and PS2 library compared to now and they just don't have as much going for them,

All of their good games are either also on the PC or are going to be ported in the near future, the only true exclusive worth getting is Bloodborne.

TLOU2 and Uncharted are all from Naughty Dog and that's their own design decisions not Sony's itself specifically.

The God of War remake was worlds better than Ascension. People keep forgetting that before GOW2018 you had Ascension come out and it did so badly and bombed that it forced the gameplay to change. 2018 made the series be basically a bunch of dungeons to explore, and it's not nesscierily a bad decision because it does that well enough. Where as old GOW's level design was just a constant gauntlet. You also had Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus which came out for the PSP and were really just very average and it was clear by then the formula was getting stale. The only real weak part about GOW2018's combat was that there wasn't enough enemy variety. That's one part of the Soulsborne gameplay that if you're going to ape you kind of have to get right, is that enemy variety is a huge thing in any Soulsgame and they keep introducing new enemies with new attack patterns every hour to halfhour while you play the game.

It legit makes me sad that BB is still stuck with a shitty framerate, I really hope the rumours of a PC port are true *sigh*
You're going to be waiting long and hard, because it's looking like an Upgraded PS5 version that runs at 60 fps with all the DLC on the disc itself is coming.

It's one of the few games that gets no performance boost with the PS5 and with how well Demon's Souls remake did we're more than likely getting more Souls games sooner rather than later.

Soulsborne games also count as part of Sony's third person perspective games that they're focusing on, that and 3d platformers. It's a common misconception that they're making nothing but MOVEIGAEMS but Spiderman was a more refined version of Gravity Rush.

Which was also why they closed Studio japan, the Japanese themselves were buying the western made sony games in far higher numbers than the big Studio japan games. So now the remnants of Studio japan are going to be making nitche japanese games for the VR headset. In terms of good original VR games Moss and Paper Beast seem to be the current golden children, so that's what they have to beat.

The Xbox Series X, as far as I know, is the only new-gen console to still play CDs, so that edges out the PS5 in my book.

Plus, the Series S (digital version of Xbox Series X) is $100 cheaper than the digital PS5 (Series S $299; PS5 $399).

I don't get why there are more people eager for the PS5 compared to the Xbox Series X/S.

MFers only talking about the Consoles and not the other important and historical things they made like the Walkman and Discman smh
I cannot speak for walkmans but discmans sucked; they were bulky, would skip really often, most couldn't play CD-R's and were similar to Google glass, where using them in public was a clear "come mug me" sign.

None of my classmates ever brought their discmans to school because of how inconvenient they were.
