Oh shit, I can go on a whole rant about how marvel ruined humor. Shitty marvel quips are now in fucking everything. GOW Ragnarok had the shitty marvel humor too. I blame marvel for starting that fucking trend.
There is also something else that help start that trend, Twitter. A small YouTuber named ShreddedNerd, made a great video entitled; Millennial Writing.
He brings up a good point. Many of the politics, humor and writing you see feels like it was written by a Twitter addict. The type of humor in games now is that weird childish insults mixed with curse words. The kind you see from woke libshits on Twitter who think "twat waffle" and "bitch muffin" are great and edgy insults. No longer do you have games with nuanced politics like the first Bioshock or Fallout: New Vegas. (Josh Sawyer has a degree in history and is fascinated with how cultures with different ideologies functioned. Ken Levine read all of Ayn Rand's books to better understand Objectivism despite his disagreements with the philosophy.) Instead most writers just look at some idiots Twitter account and see which political tweet is trending. "Oh! Someone tweeted; "Death to capitalism! Workers rise up!"? Better add that to the game!"
The writing is also like those weird quirky and random tweets that you see from weirdos who you know don't get out much. Tweets like Chuck Wendig's infamous Magic Skeleton tweet. The problem is that many millennial writers think that the majority of the population is just like Twitter even though time and again reality has proven that Twitter is just a small echo chamber. It is not indicative of the real world despite how millennial writers wish it were so.

Recently some group of Twitter morons was amazed some wokeshit show I'd never heard of was canceled, because "it was trending on Twitter!" This is really how these pinheads think.

This reminds me of a story of Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky in the making of Outer Worlds. Both Tim and Leonard came to the writing room one day with a mass of books and told the writing room full of diverse millennials that they were going to read all these books to get their inspiration from them. The diverse writing team looked at them both slack jawed and with disgust and told Tim and Leonard that they were not going to get their inspiration from books because, "Nobody reads today" and that audiences would get bored with a game that was inspired by books. Instead they were going to get their ideas by browsing Twitter, watching Rick & Morty and playing Borderlands as those things resonates with the youth today.
I shit you not this happened. Because of this Outer Worlds was forgettable tripe. These dipshits need to realize that most people do not use Twitter but to do so would mean that they would have to admit that Twitter is a echo chamber and most of the world doesn't share their views on life and politics. That to the modern millennial writer is a fate worse than death.

The problem is those people rarely feel repercussions for making flops; mainly because they write for bullshit Twitter activism. Not only do they not suffer consequences for failing to get a winner, their chosen industry will close ranks around them and make up every excuse under the sun about why the new media project is bad; and imagine my shock, their excuse is never "Your writing is shit." Hollywood (and other associated media fields) will push the narrative they want until the economy crashes and 90% of expendables lose their jobs.

Keep in mind that there's a reason why shit like Manga is outselling American Comics by a massive magnitude; the people they keep around as writers/creators are mentally ill, in the tranny/narcissism/etc ways... and unless I'm mistaken (or heard wrong); Zoe Quinn is getting another shot at a comic book series, after her first one didn't even last long enough to sell its planned number of episodes. And you can say "Well that's comics," yeah, but they're all friends/in bed with each other.

Uh oh, not feeling too good Soyny sisters,

The Last of Us and its consequences have been a disaster for Sony. When the Last of Us came out Sony struck gold. The game is one of their best sellers and considered one of the greatest games ever made. Problem with many entertainment companies is when a product of theirs sells gang busters they tend to chase the trend that made it popular for a decade or so. A good example would be movies in the past. Look how many Westerns came out in the 50's and 60's and Superhero movies today. Entertainment companies will milk a cow dry until the trend is a dead dried husk. This is what is happening with games in regards to them now having to be "cinematic experiences" like The Last of Us. However, this trend maybe coming to an end. Elden Ring, a game that mostly focuses on gameplay, beat The Last of Us 1 and 2 in both awards and sales. I think gamers are tried of story driven, cinematic, walking sims and want to play a game for gameplay now. Many companies and devs are also taking notice of Elden Rings success.
Only problem is now everything's going Souls-like. Can't get a good action game anymore, it has to be a Souls-like.

Controversial take coming, I don't dislike Sony's cinematic game formula, I loved The Last of Us, I loved The Order 1886, I loved Uncharted 4 and I loved God of war 2018.

What I dislike is how they no longer tell compelling stories.

They aren't the deepest games and not every game needs to be like it, but there's wrong with the basic formula, people are just understandably salty because the writing has gotten worse.

I guess I should be kind of thankful The Order never got a sequel because I'd hate to have seen it go Woke.

I do miss the variety Sony used to offer though with games like Jak, Sly and one real unsung hidden gem, War of The Monsters, which was "Twisted Metal but with kaiju", that game would have been so fun online had it continued as a series.
I agree actually. The general formula isn't bad, it's fun to play something cinematic when the writing is good. I played Judgment recently, similar to some of Sony's first party titles like the Spider-Man 2018 game. Difference is the writing is incredibly good in Judgment. The main story keeps pulling you in while with something like Spider-Man 2018, the gameplay is just passable enough, while the story and dialogue are just plain bad.

Was Forspoken Playstation only? I knew it was Square Enix, didn't know it was PS only.
It has 2 years of console exclusivity, i wonder who is going to be buying this crap on Xbox in 2 years when this game will be forgotten in two weeks. Sony thought this was worth securing for two years which is hilarious. By comparison Final Fantasy XVI has six months exclusivity, but maybe that was Square Enix loosing all hope in Sony and not wanting to commit like they used to.

Talking about FFXVI , that game honestly looks like it might be a wreck in the making. At least from the trailers it make it seem like you won't have a party, the devs said you will only have "companions" only from time to time. Bad omen.

You used to have people making pop culture from a background in other fields and they would apply their accumulated knowledge to a new medium. Now we have professional pop culture writters whose entire background is other pop culture and only pop culture. Miyazaki gets misquoted a lot in memes but i believe this is what he was referring to but within anime. He comes from a generation that studied the real world and sourced creativity from other artistic mediums, newer generations just study anime in an incestuous cicle of regurgitation.

They should have just been immediately fired. I can't even imagine having a job where the boss says do something and some entry level turd is like "hell naw I ain't doin' that sheeit."

one thing i remember reading about long time ago is that humor changed drastically, it's more feminine in a way because comedian women are afraid of offending anyone due to their natural trait of sociability, they cannot call a nigger a nigger because that would be rude, that's why many modern humor writing thingies are pop culture references, passive aggressive irony, cheeky gotcha liners or some equally "harmless" shit like that, they don't do shit like say, sign my petition in postal 2 or the comically racist accents on no one lives forever and it's second game and will dismiss it as offensive, crude or any other word that implies "it's not for smart people", which is passive aggressive insult that tries to categorize and attack a social position from a person that bitches tend to do coincidentally, an equal maleish thing i can tell about is joke overuse like new vegas old world blues sexual innuendos.
course humor is subjective but in it's core it's offensive, it's meant to pick a niggle on a nigger and point it out loud and proud for everyone to laugh at.
and these retarded faggots can't get that at all.

"It's precisely when humor is offensive that we need it most. Comedy should provoke. It should blast through prejudices; challenge preconceptions. Comedy should always leave you different than when it found you. Sure, humor can hurt, even alienate, but the risk is better than the alternative: a steady diet of innocuous, childproof, flavorless mush. Demand to be challenged, to be offended, to be treated like thinking, reasoning adults, and raise your children to do the same. Don't let a comedian, a network, a congressional committee, or an evil genius take away your freedom to laugh at whatever you want." - Duckman (RIP Everett Peck, you absolute legend).

Sorry for double-posting but....
Sony's expecting a severe drop in PSVR 2 sales from a projected 2 million

The sources said that not only has Sony given their display panel partners a heads up to expect a reduction in orders, the company is now expecting to sell something closer to 1.5 million PSVR 2 units between this April and March of next year. A bit of a drop from expecting to have 2 million units on standby for launch.

The Ls just keep on coming for Soyn.....

It was really funny when Netflix cancelled the Luke Cage series and those idiots were honestly stunned. "But it was the most diverse!"
They really believed that diversity drives numbers, they were all in on that.
That's pretty wild when you consider Hi-Fi Rush is also on Gamepass.
It is really wild when you take into account that the game was first announced and shown five days ago. Then immediately released hours after that. No one knew about it.
Someone in another thread mentioned that a bunch of streamers had Forspoken scheduled at release but at the last minute ditched it in favor of Hi-Fi Rush.

Serious question, why do people even want a PS5 anyway? If you ask someone why they’d want a Switch, they’ll start naming off first party games they care about. Xbox fans will talk about Game Pass, enhanced backwards compatibility, and maybe messing around with emulators. PC fans will talk about power (and in a handheld format in the case of the Steam Deck), games that work best with a KB+M, and customization/mods. The only argument for a PS5 I’ve ever heard - when someone even attempts to explain it at all - is “it’s the new Playstation”. The same thing happened with PS4, but it’s even worse now that all of their competition has improved significantly since 2013.

A lot of people blame Joh Whedon and its consequences but his faggotry was more of a simptom than the disease.

Can I just say that Joss Whedon, much like Justin Roiland, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah and John Oliver are the main reason as to why Reddit was and still a mistake?

I know this is the Sony hate thread, but the fact that we threw actual comedians and skilled/gifted writers under the bus for these people are the reason why nuance and reason are unfortunately being destroyed by these elites that hire people like this.
Also, Firefly was just OK at best. I sometimes forget that it was a thing in pop culture medium.
