Microsoft’s issues are they've taken forever to rebuild their 1st party and release games from them/the managers are incompetent. There's only been pockets of that kind of stuff (for now...), and not as in your face as "Spider-Man says trans rights!". I'd even say stuff like Gears 5 was pretty good, but not up to the peak as 2 or 3. Halo's never been more irrelevant, but that has nothing to do with wokeness, the new games just fucking suck.
I'm playing thru that game right now as I speak, it's no hyperbole probably one of the best games i've ever played (even better than FF7 imo). it's so amazing to see such a supportive community for the game cheering on a remake but it's very very unlikely it would happen

You have to use an online store or previous gen console to buy new profile icons because Sony made them inaccessible on PS5. Sony really hitting Nintentard stupidity when it comes to create an online shop. Hell, I think I had to use an online store for my PS Plus as navigating it on PS5 is either impossible or incredibly shitty to do.

Controlling the market is my guess. Back during the PS3 and prior eras, localizations were typically crafted and released months after the initial Japanese run. To mitigate the market buying the game months early, avoid regional controversies, and control spoilers for any story game, region locking was instated. Now with internet prevalence and day & day releases, region locking has no purpose.
