The Switch is the modern PS2.

And I mean that sincerely, in that it not only has a ridiculous amount of games for it, but no matter what genre of game you're a fan of, there will be games for you to play. In terms of content, the Switch is probably the best library for third party games that Nintendo has had since the NES or SNES.

It literally is. The Switch officially has become the dedicated gaming device with the largest game library: 4500+, far more than the PS2's 3400+ games.

A little over a year ago. I doubt that they'll change the model, since it looks like a considerable amount of work has been done on the game already, and changing the models on both Eve and Lily would set development back significantly. But of course, this IS modern Sony; I wouldn't put it past them. Especially since they're publishing now.

You'll be surprised how little they'll have to do to alter her character model. For starters, jiggle physics would be the first thing to go and that's is just a toggle that they can turn off. Breast size and the curves of her body; a few sliders to move in the 3D model editor. The worse case scenario is that they indeed can remove the Korean made character model of Eve altogether and replace it with a "Western" made version for the US release. The character model, the animation and the rigging are separate elements which could make it as simple as a "drag-and-drop" of a few files and folders for the original Eve to be replaced.

If modders can give RE4 Ashley big bouncing titties and skimpy outfits then Sony definitely can mandate for Eve to be turned into another Spider-Man 2 Mary Jane. There are ideologically possessed people embedded within Sony who are not interested in earning a profit or giving the costumer what they want, they only care about pushing their propaganda.

Let's hope the Korean Studio holds firm and refuses to make any changes or fool the Sony Commissars into believing they made changes but in reality the game is the same.

Play has no limits? Watching does though lmfao

People should ask for refunds.
Usually when a product is removed from a store, you can still download it if you have bought it.
Yes but you often need your exact login and sometime the exact devices. Like you can't transfer those downloads to a PC or to another device under a different login like you could a physical game or your own digital copy that wasn't crippled with DRM.

Louis Rossmann weighed in on the PS-Discovery mess. Piracy is once again justified.

People were told this would happen when they removed P.T. but they swore it was a one-off thing that they'd never ever do again and was ok to do because it was free

This is why I still have a preference for physical media.
Even if it's like the GoG method where you download a DRM free version and make copies of it.
I just don't trust my "purchased" content to live on someone else's computer.
If i'm being charged $50+ for something I want to be able to hold it in my hands.
A more accurate term would be leased or long term rental.

I don't really think this is a "This is why you should buy physical!" moment since, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, most PS5 disks require a day one patch to even function correctly.

When has it not been? At least when it comes to preserving media.

Completely off topic question, but as someone with a Steam library that is starting to get chonky, is there any sort of centralized place for cracked .exe files that isn't a nest of malware? I may want to consider making a library of those in case Steam suddenly explodes someday and doesn't leave a fix to run shit without having to validate with the steam servers.

Most of the Playstation Vita physicals I've owned were games that required patches to fix up things or add post-release contents/QoL features. This is even more recurrent on the Nintendo Switch, to the point I'm genuinely surprised to see a rare game still in version 1.0.0 (such as EDF 4.1 and some visual novels). And it is obviously not taking into consideration the whole matter of DLCs.

Personally, I don't mind buying games primarily in digital format (on both Switch and Steam) because it is convenient.
But yeah, if an online service and all past purchases were to become unavailable for either reason, nobody should be surprised to see people resorting to piracy/cracking/etc.

I could dig up some actual numbers but the vast majority of games do not require patches to function and what's on disc/cart is fine as-is. Probably 75%+ at the very least.

The games that ship broken w/ a patch to fix are overwhelmingly western slop you shouldn't bother playing.

This is heinous, if you purchase a game on Steam or GOG and it gets delisted, at least the game still remains in your personal library.

This is a class action lawsuit in the making if Sony doesn't start issuing refunds.
I have no experience whatsoever in business law, but I'm pretty sure you agreed to this in the ToS and EULA. Now, if you wanted to challenge the legality of such agreements I think that might be possible, but Sony has such fuck you money you'd need someone who would be willing to waste damn near a decade of their life for free or find someone who is willing to fund it. Not sure if Microsoft can do that, but it'd be funny if they could.

@AnOminous can probably explain this a lot better and correct me.

So basically games you shouldn't be buying a PS5 to play? (yes, I'm aware you shouldn't be buying a PS5 in general, just making the point)

Its for films and tv shows, not games in this case. But either way, doesn't matter, piracy is always the answer anyway.
Of course, but I should state I found out about this through a bunch of PS5 youtubers complaining that this is the future of games so that's why you need to buy games physical on PS5.

And I'm just kind of scratching my head because I'm pretty sure the western slop they buy a PS5 to play is going to be garbage without the day 1 patch.
