People always say stuff like this, but look at the state of the industry now, even with all this vaunted competition. It honestly can't get much worse than this, and both Sony and Microsoft are pushing some of the worst trends in the industry right now. They are part of the problem, not the solution.
My attitude has completely changed over the past five months, and now I will not worry at all if PlayStation completely dies off. Xbox is well on its way too, and I feel nothing. No emotions about it whatsoever. Gaming for the foreseeable future is going to be all computers and whatever Nintendo's doing. The only thing I wonder is if the next Switch will capture the rest of the hoodrat market that sees PlayStation as a luxury brand and buys them for NBA and Madden.

Snoy's console market is being the number one machine that single mothers and aunties set their future statistic in front of as a parenting substitute.
Which is a shame and a fall far from grace from their start making lemonade out of lemons after nintendo backed down from a CD console partnership way back when.

And that's why I haven't owned a console since the 360. People walked right into vendor lock-in with sweet promises about "the cloud" and they got precisely what they fucking deserve.
There will never be a decade like the 2000s ever. It was the final decade for actual consoles and games not cloud shit

Five would be a nice round number to conclude the run of PlayStation. It would be like a story.
  1. Strong beginnings
  2. Superstardom
  3. Trepidation
  4. Fall to mediocrity
  5. Dying in a desert under the heel of a fat black woman complaining that their games still aren’t woke enough

it speaks wonders about the health of the ps5 that konami had to release the metal gear collection on ps fucking 4. a console that i have collecting dust while with mt friends we play smackdown htcp on a hen ps3.

They do plan on this one coming to PC but they're "optimizing" it. So it'll probably be when all the planned DLC is out.
This is pretty much what happened with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, once the PS5 port with the DLC came out, they put it on the Epic store after a while, and then like a year later it finally came to Steam. I expect the same thing with FF16 and FF7R2, though I don't actually know if the latter will have DLC.

Need I remind you:
Remember when Microsoft said the Xbox One would be always online and got roundly mocked, and then Microsoft went back and didn't do it? And remember how a few years later Larry Fink was talking about how companies have to force behaviors, and now we have the PS5 forcing always-online? Isn't that just hilarious?

This is one of the main reasons why I'm glad I moved to PC this last year. I'm done. At least on PC, I can still play single player games when the servers go offline.
And you can get backups if the storefronts go down. You can either buy the game from something like GOG and keep a backup of the installers somewhere, or just pirate the game if that's not an option.

More Soyny studios are closing down. Deviation games have made nothing and they're being shuttered.

Amen, Brother. PC gaming is where the core demographic will move to. Consoles will continue to be slop-central for niggercattle until it dies in a few years time.

I think the Switch 2 will be a disaster. The Switch was a novelty and a new handheld and with the handheld market being huge, they were waiting for something new. Switch 2 will be same old, same old and I don't think people will pay the high price or deal with anymore of Nintendos bullshit.
