Sony hate thread

Any Bethesda game is worse.
Bethesda games handle well enough, they just eventually fall apart. Like, I played through the entirety of New Vegas, only for the game to have a 50/50 chance of crashing every time I entered a new area, after I beat the game. So, the DLC was off-limits for that character.

Far Cry 3 just had a terrible framerate from the get-go.

Not exactly sure. I was under the impression it just didn't work on their PS3's, but now reading it they're mostly complaining they can no longer re-download it to their PS3's even though they owned it.

Someone on reddit theorized it has something to do with the PS5 version being upscaled/censored, and this version has som

Skyrim has a memory leak IRC when your file size reaches a certain threshold.

Bethesda should had never released their games on PS3 after Fallout 3. They're practically unplayable.

The wii U had enormous potential, hampered by shit marketing and classic nintendo lackluster quality (short battery life on the wii U pad, frequency interference amongst 2 of them, etc)
If you think of how many game systems could benefit from having a player holding a different screen than the main tv display, it becomes apparent. Nobody left at the company really knows how to make the most of clever ideas. And if they do, they're shut down by washed up hasbeens like Miyamoto.
This is the only review of the Wii U I'll ever need:
It goes over everything pretty succinctly.

Kaz seriously needs to get his autism under control. I don't understand why Sony shut down Evolution Studios but kept Polyphony open. Evolution made a bunch of really good games really quick, while Polyphony takes like 6 years for each game and they've only gotten more and more autistic and un-fun. Their competitors like Playground pump out a new fucking open world racing game every 2-3 years, and Turn 10 usually takes like 2 years until the reboot. Why would I want to play a racing game where it can take like 2 hours just to get a new car when stuff like the Horizon games shower me with cars just for playing the game how I want?
They made them make Driveclub to paper over the lack of a new Gran Turismo and then shut them down when it failed, the whole thing was just a trial run for making Gran Turismo a GaaS.
We lost motorstorm and wipeout and got destruction allstars instead

Racing games have always been in a niche area of gaming for the longest time, they are nowhere near the popularity that shooters, MOBAs, RPGS or even generic action/adventure games have, maybe they once did but not anymore. They remind me a lot of how fighting games used to be, popular in the arcade scene/90's shopping mall era (such as Daytona, Sega Rally, Initial D) but as console generations have come and gone they've pretty much waned in presence over time because you don't see people picking up consoles for those types of long running games like racing games, the audience (whilst dedicated) is incredibly small and I'm sure Sony are aware of it, I mean heck the only actual popular car centric game that everyone and their dog played or once played was Rocket League, and that's not even about racing. GTA doesn't even count as apart from having cars and some degree of driving in parts, it doesn't have anything to do with actual racing against other players (if you exclude GTA online anyway).

Only some racing games have managed to tap into that normie consoomer sphere a couple of times, mostly just older Need For Speeds and Burnout Paradise, Microsoft has arguably done a better job in that area as Forza has been one of the reasons why some people have picked up an Xbox, you definitely aren't seeing the same reception with people going in droves picking up PS5's or PS4's because of Gran Turismo 7, GT7 is a dumpster fire of a game with tons of issues and if they add any other major additions to the game it will take many months, I think Sony will just give up at that point and just tell the studio to make microtransactions more appealing.

Edit: I should add that Mario Kart has managed to remain popular, but any other Kart Racers besides Mario Kart is basically a non-entity at this point, as Mario Kart has transcended the genre by being this Mario character amalgamation of quirky powerups and peculiar tracks all packaged as a safe family/party game, you don't actually need to be a good racer to be a good at Mario Kart, sure some techniques and experience will carry over but the mechanics are simple enough to be mastered by eight year olds who've never played a previous game before.

Sonic stumbled with Team Racing but they had a good thing going. Maybe they'll get back on track (no pun intended).
All Stars Racing Transformed was the best non-Mario kart racer, they had a great thing going with the Smash Bros-style character roster from all over Sega + oddities like Team Fortress of all things, and then they just ditched that in Sonic Team Racing

I'd like to know what the hell went wrong. Sega's so weird, they're like an idiot savant, just always shitting their pants and occasionally a gold nugget pops out when you least expect it.
  • Jet Set Radio? Lightning in a bottle twice in a row, then they completely abandon the franchise for 20 years running. JSRF is the #1 driving force behind emulating the original Xbox
  • Yakuza? Growing long in the tooth by 6, and then 7 turns out to be the best JRPG in decades
  • Sonic the Hedgehog? Man I don't even know where to begin
  • Shenmue? Ahahahhahahahahafakdjsladskfhiasdhgasdruhgadfo;jghfdaopigjhzdfiogjhrsdiojfsp;do
and now they own Atlus, who owns Persona, a franchise where the spinoffs get multiplatform ports, but the main games don't. I've never heard that happening with any other franchise.

New article posted an hour ago. Get ready for Sony to partner up with Peacock of all platforms for a Twisted Metal series. I am sure fans of The Office are exactly the audience for this show.

Will Arnett is officially set to voice the iconic character Sweet Tooth in the “Twisted Metal” TV series at Peacock.

The character in the show is described as a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses “Lost Vegas” as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck. It has long been rumored that Arnett would voice Sweet Tooth in addition to serving as an executive producer on the series, though it was never formally announced until now.

Arnett joins previously announced cast members Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, and Neve Campbell in the live-action show. Based on the Playstation video game franchise, the show is a half-hour action comedy show about a motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief (Beatriz), he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.
Arnett is an accomplished voice actor, having voiced the title character in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series “BoJack Horseman” for six seasons. He is also known for voicing Batman in “The Lego Batman Movie” as well as in both “The Lego Movie” 1 & 2. In live-action, Arnett starred as Gob Bluth in “Arrested Development,” which earned him two Emmy nominations. He was also nominated four times for the best guest actor in a comedy Emmy for his appearances as Devon Banks on “30 Rock.”

He is repped by Artists First and CAA.

The show is based on an original take by “Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Michael Jonathan Smith will serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Both Reese and Wernick also executive produce. Mackie will executive produce in addition to starring. Kitao Sakurai will direct multiple episodes and also executive produce. Arnett and Marc Forman will executive produce via Electric Avenue, which secured the rights to the material and helped put the project together. Jason Spire of Inspire Entertainment, Peter Principato of Artists First, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions, and PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst will also executive produce. Sony Pictures Television, Playstation Productions, and Universal Television will produce.

Why did Sony double down on the whole "games as movies" faggotry when that started going by the wayside? ADHD Fortnite zoomers don't want to sit there watching 10 hour long boring cutscenes in between 5 minutes of gameplay, they want interactive, quick, fast paced instant gratification. If every game wasn't a movie they could go back to releasing more than one per year.

"Games as movies" was never for "ADHD Fortnite Zoomers". It was for faggy SJW types that try to make games "art" or just straight-up turn them into hollywood. In fact, that's all AAA vidya has been trying to ape for the past few years (or even longer), even EPIC admitted this when they were promoting Unreal Engine 5 at the last E3

Its been an increasing part of their brand since the PS2. You could probably date this shit back to Ico and Twisted Metal Black in 2001, if not the influence of 3rd party PS1 series such as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear. The PS2 went further as Jak 2 created more story focus, after Ratchet did that a year prior, which then Sly followed as well. God of War was also built to be more cinematic, but what took the cake for PS2 was Shadow of The Colossus.

After that era, the PS3 brought Uncharted and The Last of Us which were clearly the biggest successes of that system, hence why Sony followed them so strongly after the PS3 was not a massive hit. They were also pushed to go more story heavy in some areas as Twisted Metal 2012's downfall can partially be sighted as a result of a lack of story fans were used to.

Finally, the PS4 thrived on this shit. It also left Sony in constant positions of praise by journos.

Movie-games makes for great trailers and the games industry have been flooded with beta-writers and wannabe film directors who gets tens of million of dollars and the opportunity to force their gay story on the general public.
