You have to save costs somehow.I heard the reason they got rid of the PS2 backwards compatibility in the PS3 was that those early models were super prone to overheating and cooking themselves to death. Still, they should’ve figured out how to improve the cooling system instead of stripping the feature out though.
Sony should of hired a software firm to get Cell to emulate MIPS like Microsoft figured out with the 360’s PowerPC and the original Xbox’s Celeron.
