There's another angle to this that happens with/without the whole DEI firing stuff (I'm not read into it, so can't comment on it).
An employee who has sufficient network access to deploy a virus/ransomware can either be blackmailed/extorted or more like just plain old bribed into deploying whatever shit happens.

If this is ransomware and they're trying to extort Sony for $100-250m USD (reasonable given however long this shit will fuck up their reputation and piss off gaymers) then offering someone (whether DEI/pajeet or red-blooded Irish-American) like $4m USD to deploy the ransomware (basically "you'll get an email, click da link!!!!!111") makes a lot of economic sense.

I don't think DEI/non-DEI matter in a scenario like this either - what matters is how shit Sony treats employees and their employee's friends/coworkers ("these faggots just shut down a studio where 10 of my friends worked" doesn't sit well with some people).

From as much as I know about Sony I am guessing they're highly exploitive employers.

Nothing will match the PS2, it was the greatest, the best. Not even close. They don't tell you this but that crystal, the spinning one, it was actually a clock! I couldn't believe it! And those pillars on booting up a game? Those were your save files and depending on the memory it would change their size. It was unheard of at the time, cutting edge stuff!

The PS3? You bought it and you were stuck looking at a Temu lifestream from FF7. You would spend 3 (Sometimes 5!) of your hard earned dollars on a dynamic theme to stop the embarrassment but they don't tell you this, they lie to you. You load it up and it's practically a static image. Your favorite character slowly moving an arm like Joe Biden with a 30 second looping soundtrack of the most obnoxious song from that game. It was pathetic, SAD!

Yes but that was a issue with price mostly. The PS2 sold stupid numbers because it was a relatively cheap machine that also doubled as a DVD player, which in 2000/1 made it a really fucking good deal since parents could buy it for their kids and use it as a DVD player and save cash on having to buy a DVD player.

They tried to do the same with the PS3 and Blu-Ray. It sorta worked, but the original price was much worse. Also blu-rays were more expensive and harder to pirate so people didn't buy as many players.

In the 3rd world like Brazil the PS3 ended up being comically, absurdly expensive. To the point you could buy a used car with it or like 4 PS2s.

Have the Soynys accused the attackers that caused this PSN downtime as "Microsoft, Nintendo, or Valve employees secretly working undercover to undermine Sony and our Democracy"? Was Pmurt even blamed for this downtime yet too?

Read through any thread and you will see them cheering on the death and demise of PC - to the point where posters act like the PC fucked their dog. Then watch as they cope that this downtime isn't a big deal.

PlayStation California shouldn't exist in the first place. Hurts to see how even Japan has gone woke (at a slower pace than the West) over the last decades.
 
Idk what the lisence issue is. I can play anything that doesn't have some gay nigger server connection for single player bullshit. Shit sucks, but last time this happened, it set the president for monthly "free games" (and killed zipper interactive sadly)

I suspect every PS4/PS5 game has to fetch/validate a license on first start even if it's physical media (I would assume it's a trivial action when the servers are up -- "validate PS5 console is intact, validate it's logged into an account, validate legit physical copy, generate cert/license unique for console and send it to client"). But if that "trivial-to-get-under-normally-circumstances" license isn't there and it can't get one, it'll assume it's not authorized to play the game and won't start it up.

Your stuff's probably still working because you started it all at least once when you first each game and there's a valid license from their servers already on your console as a result.
