I expect it mostly means GAAS games, more licensing and hopefully day 1 PC ports.

I still don't expect non-GAAS stuff to come to Xbox. I don't see Sony doing late ports for first-party single-player games, and after a year+, it really isn't worth it for pretty much any dev to port to Xbox unless they get a Game Pass deal.

Next gen, it will be different if the rumours about the next-gen Xbox being able to use Steam happen. I strongly doubt Sony will add their games to the Xbox store, but I also don't see them blocking their games from being played if they are bought on Steam.

Also, it would be nice if they did more with the Switch 2. While not powerful enough to run most first-party games, looking at the Steam Deck, something like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart could run on Switch 2 at 30fps with visual cutbacks. And they have a bunch of PS1, PSP, PS2 and PS3 games that would be a market for collections and remasters that would fit well with being on the Switch 1/2, and to finally get them on PC as well.

If anything that's bad news because he's not working on SSB6.
According to supposedly reliable leaks, the next Smash game isn't even in the pre-production phase yet, so I definitely think this boosts the chances of Ultimate Deluxe, which I don't really mind in all actuality. I just want Dr. Eggman to take his rightful place alongside Sephiroth as the second iconic 3rd party gaming villain in Smash Bros.

Sony who turn off comments on most of their announcements nowadays because it's going to be nothing but people pointing and laughing, are moving to a community and engagement based business?
It’s like when they said they wouldn’t allow cross-play for Rocket League because Nintendo and Xbox’s audiences were too mature and would tarnish Sony’s more family-friendly image. No, those names are not mixed up.

I wouldn't mind that, or preferably Melee HD (ideally a SSB collection actually).

PlayStation is shifting its business model to something that aligns more closely with its live-service ambitions, its new CFO Lin Tao says.

Push Square reports that in Sony's recent earnings call, Tao says: "Sell-in units was the focus but now we are focused on monthly active users [MAU]. The management is focused on engagement and MAU. This is leading to profitability."

Last quarter, PlayStation had a peak of 124 million monthly active users, which means a lot of potential spending. Around half of those users are on PS4.

I agree, but Nintendo needs to actually release some games for this thing. I checked and there's only a few other announced games, none with release dates, and none interesting. Does anybody really give a shit about some Kirby or Splatoon spinoffs? This is the shit you'd expect Switch 1 to get winding down, not stuff to sell you on Switch 2. There should probably be more than 4 fucking GC games on NSO too lol

Prease understand, Nintendo is shutting down emulation sites too fast to jack their ROMs from to be able put them on NSO.

PC bros, do you ever get tired of winning constantly?
Honestly, too much winning is a bad thing. It's better to have a reservation put aside for the most institutionalized goycattle on consoles because if they come over to PC, they'll just enable the further enshittification of the platform.

Can we get Bloodborne for PC now?

Or does Sony need to lose a few more billion dollars before they'll reconsider?
Only if they don't obliterate Lady Maria, or really do anything to the original game other than simply port it over. I love white-haired waifus like her and Edelgard.

So does that mean that their wont be a Playstation 6?

There will be one but by all estimates it will not be a huge leap in power, it'll be a modest one at best. I think the console side of the industry is finally realizing that they are knee deep in the quagmire of diminishing returns and the development costs have reached suicidal unsustainability.

The PS5 Pro being $700 must have been a wake up call for a lot of people, now games being baseline $80 and probably higher after GTA6 launches, Sony will have to give people a cheaper entry point to their follow up console next time around, The PS6 will probably be $499 like the PS5 was at launch. Graphics are going to be less of a priority now that the Switch 2 is out and honestly even average gamers are getting a sense that visual fidelity has more or less peaked and frame rate is where developers should focus more.

PC bros, do you ever get tired of winning constantly?

- Terrible game optimization.
- Incomplete and buggy releases.
- Massive install file sizes.
- Same $80 price tag, no physical media.
- Horrendous visual artifacts due to mandatory AI upscaling just to hit playable frame rates.
- Forced Raytracing on some titles.
- Sub-optimal pricing and availability of components,
- GPUs being ever more power hungry and expensive.
- Bonus: If you run Windows 11, Microsoft owns your computer more than you.

While the availability of legacy titles is immense, the discounts, mods, customization and the freedom of choice is wonderful, there are currently plenty of Ls to be had in the PC gaming space.

Those grapes must be sour.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but given what you said, justify a real PS6, one that's not just a new shell, more storage, and maybe a better CPU. That just sounds like a PS5 Pro Max to me.
