The issue with that is that it's assuming GTA 6 does so well that it's worth spending $900+ on a console. I've upgraded from the 4 to the 5 because I wanted to be ahead of future releases so I didn't have to upgrade later. I know the PS5 has no games, but Sony is not helping with people who are not trying to spend an arm and a leg on a console when it's just easier to buy a PC. Not even kidding, I switched to PC pretty recently because I am so tired of having to pay $70 for new releases of games that are slop. I'd rather spend a grand on a new computer and just pirate games then shilling to AAA companies.I saw this news earlier and I honestly don't get it. They are hurting on sales recently and verified rumors about ceasing releasing singleplayer exclusive games on pc again. The only thing I can think of is they're preparing for GTA 6 where Sony doesn't have overal exclusivity but they do have advertisement priority and exclusive content for Sony version of GTA 6. I guess they're betting on people who don't own it yet to still be willing to buy it for GTA 6 and not wait a year or two for pc release?
At this point, I could buy a brand new GPU that can run modern games at 120FPS+ and it'd still be cheaper than buying a PS5 Pro lol. If Sony and Microsoft were apart of Steam's PR team, they are working overtime.
