Gus was the name of Al Jolson's blackface character, who had the most popular minstrel act since Stephen Foster was writing for E.P. Christy's group about 50 years before Jolson began appearing in blackface on stage in 1904.

Only part of The Jolson Story where the man himself appears on-screen. He was in his sixties when it was filmed, so he had to dub over another performer in the other scenes. This is the best example of what he would do during the height of his career just after WWI.

"Salt Water Taffy" was meant to reference the Salt Mine, like candy made from lolcow tears or something. I mostly picked it because I wanted something that wasn't tied to a specific avvie so I could change it around as I pleased. After the Salt Mine folded I thought about changing it ("Rage Candy Bar" was my top contender since it kind of had the same feel, same juxtaposition of sweets and angry lolcows, plus a cute Pokémon reference), but I decided I was too tied to the Taffy name to change it at that point.

Combination of two memes in Fate/Grand Order, the first one being REGEND (always in caps), which came from a typo in Sasaki Kojiro's interlude. Sumanai is the other meme. It means sorry in Japanese, and its refers to Siegfried saying it fairly often along with having a rather piss poor set up.

One day I was walking and there was this dead fill just lying there by the side of the road, so I un-killed him.
The name stuck.

Wanted to create an account. Was stuck on what to call myself, but was watching Monty Python clips on Youtube and got to the popular scene from Life of Brian.

I was going to name myself Testacles the Debug Centurion after the New Vegas asset but at the last second I was like “that shit’s too long what if I just put maximus on the end?”
