It's a silly sounding word most commonly associated with the cartoon character Snagglepuss. One of his catchphrases is "heavens to murgatroyd" which is kind of a sillier version of the expression "heavens to betsy" which is a statement of surprise. The word murgatroyd has it origins as a last name of British origin.

There is also one more pop culture reference to the name/word murgatroyd that I'm aware of. In the 1984 old school hip hop/electronic song "Jam On It" by Newcleus one of the characters in the song asks another "have you seen my sister murgatroyd?" Again probably used for comic effect.

Unfortunately, the proper spelling of murgatroyd was taken when I registered so I altered the spelling slightly.

Murgatroyd was the name of the car in a book I used to love when I was a child....same spelling, too, if I remember correctly.

Because I couldn't think of anything clever, witty or amusing. As a typical example of esprit d'escalier I've thought of much better ones that I wish I had chosen.

Bunghole is the technical term for a hole in a barrel, and I find it hilarious because it sounds like butthole but the word bung by itself also sounds funny. It's also rooted in memory because kids in elementary and middle school would call each other bungholes sometimes. I even witnessed a teacher in middle school give a kid detention because he called another kid a bunghole and the teacher then asked him to tell him the original meaning of the word, and he had no idea what it actually was.

I was gonna name myself after one of my favourite bands, but since they're not too well-known I worried it might be a bit of a slight powerlevel (I love shilling them out to my mutuals). So I went with what I was wearing instead.

My previous name was called after the Comic Con kitty, but current (Neoguri Ramyun) is from Korean seafood noodle soup, which I like

I like weasel and weasel-adjacent animals.
