If users actually care about having these passes, they will then have incentive to make posts that appeal to jannies rather than to rest of the user base. If the jannies really do get petty and start denying applications "because you posted a heggin variant i hate", I could see this doing harm to the site.

So how it works is that usually admins / managers can see full on ips. I guess the developer too? I'm not sure. But nevertheless then there's also mods but they only see cloacks and post history ( not full ips )
