for some time, yes. this was a game made on the byond engine. byond is mostly used by young devs since coding in it is really easy. in 2011, ss13 was mainly played by teenagers. I first played when I was 10. ask anyone from that time and they'll say the same thing. just look around for other games on the byond engine and you'll see its all kid stuff. nowdays it's changed since half the servers on the hub are 18+, but it used to be unheard of for an 18 plus server on the hub, since there was just so many kids. and trolls, too.

To sign up for byond you need to be at least 13, Byond advertises itself as a kids platform but 18+ servers are allowed to exist in the hub. It’s frighteningly. easy for someone to sign up for an account then fill out some questions and join these servers. It’s gotta fucking stop

I thought you meant eggs as in food ingredients, i checked the subreddit and it's literally grooming central like Wizden, and the underage user that is a frequent regular on Wizden was groomed into "becoming" genderfluid. You cannot make this shit up even if you wanted to.

It's somehow much worse than Second Life which I snuck on while underage in the late 2000s, where people would make suspected kids feel quite unwelcome even in the normie, non explicit spaces. People here just don't care and it's completely normalized that we should intermix a bunch of autistic kids with a bunch of sexual deviants.

In spite of this being a blatant violation of the second fucking rule of their TOS they never do a thing:

User content uploaded to or displayed on the website can be filtered or removed at the discretion of the BYOND staff. Items that warrant such action include, but are not limited to:

Content violations as well as inappropriate conduct in other areas of the BYOND system, such as creating excessive website or software "spam", harassing other users, or performing Denial of Service (DoS) attacks on our network or our users, may warrant termination of the BYOND account. Lummox's TOS for content on the byond hub is pretty literal. Hub titles and images cannot directly contain content that is against the TOS. "18+" is not, itself, not safe for work content. Putting "Cum Dumpster" or "Nigger" in the title will net you a hub ban, but otherwise it's fine.

I'd assume "within other areas of the BYOND system" would extend to anything on or using BYOND and not just titles of the hub. But I guess not apparently.
 
Lummox JR has, in the past, dehubbed Splurt back when it was named SEXO. That dehub incident prompted Splurt's rebrand to its current name. (Yes, somehow an explicit onomatopoeia is fine, while a more clinical "sex" calls for a dehub.)

He also threatened to dehub TGstation a little after that for a player giving the station a name containing the word "fuck". (A)
