Let's be real here, a lot of the SS13 devs/players also don't believe in copyright (until they can fuck you over with it via licensing as copyleft) lmao. Which is why I vehemently against the AGPL change.

See: MSO DMCAs (CM, DMCA, F13), Godsring (F13 dev) then copyright striking others (After being peanut galleried on /tg/), Mattoks getting his code stolen for IS1/IS2 (and if I recall correctly, getting DMCA'd for his own shit lmao), Colonial Marines getting struck by franchise holder, BRP getting false DMCA'd via gayops to kick Purlek out, RU DMCA drama, Ashen Sky, etc...
Also didn't SPLURT have some DMCA drama or am I confusing it with another ERP server variation?

lol this guy is joking, but this brings up a real situation that happened. a horror cow on lifeweb that used to just be a regular teenager, called gabol, had gotten perma banned for something. he begged and begged the admins and they told him he could come back if he put a flag up his ass crack while nude. so he did that, and recreated this iconic photo

here's the issue, the photo was made when gabol was 15 or 16. so the lifeweb admins technically forced a teenager to get naked, put a flag up his ass crack, and take the photo for everyone in the discord and fourms to see. the photo is still on the lifeweb discord today.

is it CP? no, but is it incredibly odd for the admins to do? yes. and it points to a much bigger issue.

edit: one of the old head admins, asdore, got shit canned by randy for taking money from players to get unbanned. so randy does actually fire his admins, not for doing fucked up shit of course, just taking money that could've been his.

Its fairly self contained in SS14, there is exploits and griefing with them, but russian raiders are so common (such as Big Balls Team) showing up spamming swastikas, saying nigger and the like, that it doesn't really make the news anymore.

Theres also a few cheat clients for the game, and while I'm not particularly knowledgeable in their capabilities, I know they've had some nasty exploits in the past that get quickly stamped out due to the forementioned prevalence of raiders (i.e. infinite TC glitch by exploiting insertion/prediction).

No genuine interest from anyone talented to pursue exploiting/griefing, or making it publicly known like wsock or rshoe did. Russians do most of the raiding/griefing but all of them are under 15 and do the same exact gimmick all the time.

Game is open-source and very easy to get into and understand given time. Making an injector also requires next to none C# knowledge.

Is ss14 even playable? I tried it years ago and it was turbo stripped version of ss13 with stupid gimmicks like shuttles and turbo unhinged troons as game developers.

Unless you were playing some SS13 based clone or spinoff (CM, F13, etc), the game's core mechanics (Engie, medical, sec, supply roles) have been the same or less been the same since 2013-2018 (when Bay started removing features due to lack of upkeep, as does bay). SS14's open source release is from 2015.

In other ss13 news:
MSO continues to make fun of /tg/ while also linking to their discords. Forget the MRA shit, nigga's just straight up bipolar or trying to stir as much shit as he can.

oh yeah, I dunno if kiwi allows links like this, but here is a rar file of every single lifeweb and scorcher sprite, its from a year ago, has something like 2000+ sprites, its really useful if you're a byond dev, since all the sprites have names and are categorized in the same places, you can just pop one of these dmi files in the server code and use them for anything byond related.


scorcher was in dev for about 5 years at the time of this leak, and its very, very private, this might be the only link to a download for this out there. only around 200 people are allowed to play scorcher, so some of these sprites have probably been seen by less then 30 people.
there's a shit ton of midjourney ai used in it as well, you'll see it if you look through. plus a ton of stolen sprites from unpaid commissions

randy utterly hates people sharing his sprite work since usually furfags take them and make porn games out of it, would be a shame if something like that happened with scorcher.
