Yithani is a narcissistic ex-BestRP player and former admin of Unbound Travels and the Aphelion Project where he became infamous after killing his server and making a thread titled Hi, I'm Yithani- and this is the reality of Unbound Travels (Archive). He had a relatively large and influential clique of degenerates who would yesmen his every move, and coordinate reddit influence through their skype and teamspeak server. Considered a massive part of BestRP history, someone else can elaborate on BestRP history because frankly I did not touch that server with a ten-foot pole when it was alive.

Unbound Travels was run by a man called Jamie Digweed, another Britbong who was known to disappear for extended periods of time and neglect the server which was actually hosted on his workplace computer. Jamie's employers found out that their bandwidth was being used to host spessmans and the plug was pulled and the server was down for a while. The server hilariously died when ERP was banned, which caused a huge portion of the furry populace to fuck off.

Their teamspeak was rumored and known to be full of racism, weening, edge, and minors before they decided to retire to become an internet british Corbynite socialist. His general gimmick is to go onto a server, worm himself into the administration with friends, steal parts of the community for his clique, then destroy it from the inside. Rinse and repeat.

Tl;dr and timeline of the events:

• Yithani splits off from BestRP and makes a server of his own (Unbound Travels)
• Misc events happen on the server that displeases him, his staff turn against him.
• He still has host access, so he essentially takes full control and shuts the server down, replaces the front page and forums with a picture of undertale's Chara on a black background with the quote "Since when have you been in control?", undertale laughter sound effects could be heard.
  
  
• Yithani also deletes the Skype and the Github for the server.
• After closing down the server, Yithani makes his own server called Aphelion Project, which also failed because he sucks at being a host (shocker).

My oldfag memory is that the late NoXiousNet gaming community had a SS13 server, NoxStation, and it was a robust experience that, fact checked by me, was then replicated by later servers like hippiestation.
However, for historical accuracy, I'm not saying that it was a 'no rules/anarchy' server because you would still get banned for mega griefing like releasing the singularity/releasing aids/nuking the station/gassing the station as a non-antag.

I remember the player "God-Emperor Takara", playing as Head of Security, going around the station and arresting every character that was a foid with color hair, the kind you see on /tg/, to then bring them to a dungeon to visciously rape and torture and kill them, in ss13. Love that memory.

I remember the phrase "back 2 nox", said by /tg/station/citadel players when a noxious player found their server and proceeded to rape and kill everyone.

I vaguely remember Nox, it was the highest populated server back then. I preferred playing on Hippie, but Nox was definitely the godfather of LRP servers. It looks like they tried to revive Nox but it failed.

As for Takara, the stories do line up. I've heard a few things about that dude. I used to have a forum profile on NoxiousNet years ago as a kid but I never really linked it to Nox.

I remember this argument, you're a fellow ancientfag, but yeah this does line up. NoXiousNet also had Gmod servers so you would expect that type of DarkRP moderation.
Where there was that one guy that was friends with the admins and he could basically play with no rules, or he donated or something.

Nox didn't dabble in DarkRP from what I remember. Nox was built on the "Zombie Survival" gamemode, which Jetboom (William Moodhe) created. There's plenty of autism on that side of Nox's history, but much of it is lost to time.

one of the most insane parts of the internet pre-2019 or whenever ss13 got it's major popularity boost, is that so much shit was weirdly related to ss13. there was a really common joke that EVERYTHING niche or indie was related in some way to ss13 somehow.

ss13 was talked about in greifing communities everywhere too, people like britbong who you might know from second life trolling, was one of the first people to release public ban evasion guides. I know this since I used his stuff listed on his twitter page back then.

there's also the amount of game dev's inspired by ss13, day Z's dev was a huge fan and tried to use the r/ss13 reddit to constantly advertise his "games" (that never really came out or went anywhere)

ive said it before, SS13 is the avatar of the internet itself. So many small communities have had their own small ss13 server for a short time. SS13 followed the internet as a whole for consolidation of the communities (both in small communities dying out and codebases often just directly copying TGs git repos) and the transformation of said communities into a niggercattle plantation of no fun allowed janny tyranny. (thanks @A Bear In The Woods you really did a good job overseeing that transformation you fucking fruitcake). What you see of trannys somehow taking power and going nuts with said power is also what has functionally occurred in a lot of web communities. To top it all off a general blacklisting for even associating with the kiwifarms also being on the list, a perfect reflection.

Manly Tears? Believe it or not I kept randomly meeting that guy across different games from 2010 to 2012. He trolled one of my servers for a half life 2 mod and I said to him "you know this is the third time we ran into each other" and we were steam friends for a while. The internet felt so much smaller then. You'd be able to recognize people and get recognized across different games and websites.

I think people overstate 'centralization' when the reality is you could randomly interact with the same guy on moddb, later see him tripfagging on /v/, run into him in roblox, reply to his comment on reddit, etc without ever making a conscious effort. There are other spheres but angloid autistic gamer internet was one thing.

What I miss from 2010 isn't even the smallness it's the total demographic makeup. No ESL third worlders or phoneposters
