So the true start of /tg/'s pop fallout came from two events:

1) The centcom funeral event™
Somebody got permabanned for telling the admins to kill themselves (which i was against) and so people held a memorial service in game for them and some people there said things like "centcom should kill themselves" ic and all of them got perma banned for it except for one who was a player who used to be a headmin (there is a reason im not referring to them an as an ex admin) who got banned but was allowed to come back.
This sparked an overreaction to kys jokes, that even obvious sarcastic remarks ("I think vaush makes some good points actually" being replied with "kill yourself") are perma bannable offenses on the discord that killed a lot of player's desire to talk in the discord.

2) The Sinfulbliss metacord event™
Two beloved sybil players got banned and blacklisted, along with 2 admins also getting deadmined, after another admin leaked a meta-discord for sybil powerusers. The main issue came from encourgement to over appeal notes/bans by certain admins to try and burn them out, but also the admins who were in there would talk about/mock other players's administrative issues and in one case leaked a player's new account and static (but its not like it wasn't obvious by how they acted.)

The Tea™. Unbeknownt to us, the admin who was leaking the metacord was also stoking the behavior they were reporting. Goading users on in pm about the things they were reporting to me and the headmins. This was reported to me shortly after the investigation by the players but it was just unverifiable pms about an admin from somebody trying to save their ass from earning a blacklisting so I dismissed it out of hand.

That admin? Your new /tg/station 13 host.

Lets break down the justice12345 "Kill yourself" bans. A terry player had a melty and told a janny to kill himself, he got banned which was to be expected. His metafriends had a tantrum and chose to have a round where they tell the admin to kill himself. Don't pussy out by saying "erm some of them said centcomm..". . Also, for all of the newfriends here, the former headmin was kieth4, he was one of the two admins I spoke of in my prior post about the appearance banned dude. So you were totally fine with him telling a dude to kill himself, but laughing at the appearancebanned retard was too far and required him to be cut down? Fuck off.

What' this bullshit about sinfulbliss being a "beloved" member of the community? He was a fucking loser. ADDITIONAL CONTEXT FOR THREAD READERS: Sinful would multibox ss13 was an observor account while playing sec, he would observe crewmembers to see who is an antag so he could pre-emptively act and look good at the game. I'll give you pepper mint though, people actually liked them. Trying to blame their bans and actions on scriptis is retarded. Sinful was always a piece of shit.

You know what did fuck up the server pop? The wallening, that thing you took fucking weeks to pull the plug on despite the massive outcry. And what did you immediately do after that? You promoted the head of that shitty project.

The hostility towards actual gameplay playstyles in favor of slowing down rounds and making everything much higher roleplay is what killed my enjoyment of the game more than anything. There's simply no tolerance towards anything that isn't exactly what they want.

It's lost its charm of being goofy and hard to control and the few times I have checked out the game its just so incredibly slow paced with none of the same gimmicks from players like piece of shit clowns and mimes bashing eachothers skulls in I used to find hilarious. If it does exist I'm not sitting through a multiple hour round to find out.

The DnD comparison is absolutely apt, the current system has just had all of the meat ripped out of it to make it as accessible as possible, and The Wallening only reflects the absolute disconnect from actual gameplay when considering new updates, anyone with a brain could have pointed out the various flaws with this update but I'm sure they were ignored because they thought it looked pretty.
